  1. Are these your actual words or did you just copy from somewhere again?
  2. As (almost) always, instant history is usually wrong.
  3. You keep saying this. Almost verbatim, over and over. That was why I said just stop. This is a giant strawman. It's not accurately representing what those who might disagree with an "all in" philosophy are saying. But you are happy to just take potshots at people instead. NO ONE is against getting better. The choice, however, isn't get players for free or do nothing. It costs something, and different fans (and GMs!) have different appetites for what they're willing to give up to make marginal improvements. That's ok. We also have no idea what people were actually asking Arnold for. If the man who built this team into what it is right now didn't see a deal worth making, I'm ok with that. Others might not be, and that's ok too.
  4. .519 OPS in 47 games. Has torn up El Paso the last two years, but not much at the big league level so far.
  5. Details coming...
  6. Alright, now there's something to talk about! :)
  7. At the end of the day, if Arnold doesn't make a move, I'm confident it's not because he wasn't trying, but he judged the cost was not worth the marginal upgrade. You can have a different threshold than the GM, but getting out pitchforks or saying we're not trying to win or fans that aren't losing their minds aren't real fans isn't productive.
  8. Because they were worse than the Brewers and may still be worse tomorrow?
  9. I mean, @Brock Beauchamp can fill us in...
  10. Soroka and Castro surely will put the Cubs over the top.
  11. Based on record, the Brewers are the best team in Major League Baseball. Other teams are making trades to compete with them. I'm NOT saying they couldn't improve either, but let's not act like we're getting left in the dust because Arnold won't pull the trigger on anything.
  12. I assume you just never get attached to your prospects because you know they're never going to make it to the bigs with your team anyway.
  13. He asked about the seller's POV though, not the buyer.
  14. Yeah, I expected it would get discussed more extensively in the MLB forum than it has so far (and yes, typically once a transaction goes official we funnel conversation there. |'ll reopen it for now.
  15. I appreciate the team giving the Cubs a false sense of hope before they come back and destroy their dreams.
  16. Looking at game logs though, it's not that bad. In June and July, he had 4 starts of 5IP, 5 of 6IP, and one 6.2 (in fairness, April-May were much more heavily ~5IP).
