  1. Took me a couple sentences to remember it was April 1. Kudos for pulling this together last night after being provided with the perfect setup.
  2. I would imagine in most situations the catcher has already made up his mind to throw (or not) regardless. It's not like you have time to wait for the umpire's call to throw down to second. Also, this is only a relevant question with 2 outs.
  3. Well, as of right now. He accepted the QO. Presumably the Brewers will not look to re-sign him, but you never know.
  4. Other than kinda by definition if you're trading someone you feel ok about moving forward without them, I don't think it's at all accurate to classify the pitching Boston sent back as "spare parts".
  5. Seeing him for the first time, his arm action feels really extreme to me. It goes really far back behind his body so there's then a long whip around when he throws it - felt like it was hard for him to get a consistent release point and know where it was going. Compare to someone like Woodruff who has a very efficient motion.
  6. The article directly addresses this: "Sanchez doesn't have a wealth of experience at first, having made four of his seven MLB appearances at the position in 2024 in his first stint with the Crew."
  7. How dare you not let Joey bat again with the bases loaded.
  8. Does this mean we don't regret losing Shane Smith anymore?
  9. This early in the season I'm sure they're concerned about # of pitches in a single inning.
  10. ...and Skenes promptly gives 5 right back. Send the bum back to AAA!
  11. McCalvy projected Chourio-Turang-Contreras-Yelich, which feels quite likely to me.
  12. Agree, there's one scene in particular that really must be seen on a big screen, but certainly all the space scenes benefit. It's basically a mashup of The Martian and Interstellar (in the best way).
  13. If Bauers only hits half as good in the regular season he'd still be an MVP candidate.
  14. Fischer's quickly becoming one of my favorite minor leaguers.
  15. He's had a few at bats in A+. He's very unlikely to be an option this year. If he tears up AA, then it gets interesting.
  16. More relevant info in McCalvy's article: https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/quinn-priester-to-start-season-on-injured-list-with-wrist-injury If it resolves without surgery, fantastic, but worst case is he's not much help this year at all.
