Last year you could see it coming with Gallen and Kelly. This year there's really no excuse other than just randomness for the Brewers to lose this series, so it'll hurt that much more if it were to happen.
The difference in offense between these lineups is pretty stark, but with Skubal you assume you'll win that game (if not, you're definitely in trouble), so Detroit just needs to find a way to steal one of the next two.
I was looking at Winker's stats the other day - crazy how he had a really solid year and then just fell off the table in September. May that continue this week...
This reminds me of that insane WS game from a few years back (Astros and maybe Dodgers?) where they traded leads the entire game. One of the craziest games I've seen.
It'll be interesting to see how ROY shakes out. I doubt Chourio will get many first place votes - Merrill had a better year (their month by months are remarkably similar though), but Skenes was terrific too.
Ah, I'm following now, thanks. I dunno, you can only go so high as a pre-arby player, so although the last couple option years would've been more, maybe it doesn't get that crazy?
Certainly the deal they did is looking really good right now.
I read somewhere that if they have to use him, it'll be Monday, and then he'd just line up for G1 of the NLDS and could go 3 times. Obviously they'd have to get there.
They just know we're going to sweep the Mets. ;)
Yes, they definitely would.
I think if one or both games mean nothing they would cancel at least the second game. Likely they'll need to play at least one though given where the teams are at.
