Yeah, that sums it up.
To be fair, the pitch clock and bigger bases have been absolute godsends for the game, but it's pretty clear that game speed and station to station baseball were becoming detrimental to the pace and enjoyment of the game.
This messes with the fundamental mechanics of the batting order and substitution rules.
So we're playing most of the year with out a SP5? Gasser is not going to be ready for a while...
Also no chance some of those names are in the majors right away in 2025, if at all.
Yeah I didn't understand that move at all. I think you have to view a tie as an assumed loss and go for two. No one's going to criticize that move at all, because you know Mahomes is death if he gets the ball first in OT.
So when someone is so good at their job that they have the opportunity to be on a national stage, they're a sellout? He should have declined out of pure love for Milwaukee? In what other field would someone get criticized for advancing their career?
On what basis can you make such blanket statements about him?
And I wouldn't say he's cheering for teams, he's capturing the emotion and energy of the moment. Is he supposed to sound like Pat Hughes the whole game, or Jim Nance calling the Masters?
Agree that in a vacuum you wouldn't go with Frelick at 3B, but isn't a hopeful imminent arrival of Wilken or Boeve exactly why you might go with Frelick as a temporary stopgap, especially if there isn't a one-year deal out there for someone better?
Yeah I don't see how this is a tie.
Regarding the "serviceable fastball" comment, isn't part of Myers success due to his elite "rise" on that pitch? Or am I remembering wrong/data doesn't bear that out?
The Cheerios reference was a real stretch for me. :)
I can only assume that philliesfanatic.com is full of posters complaining about their stupid closer and their "bites of the apple approach," and if they just went all in for once they could actually win a series...
If we really want to show we're going for it, then let's trade for Helsley and go with a bullpen of Helsley, Williams, McGill, Mis, Yoho, Payamps, and Koenig.
