  1. Is it also possible they only need to play one game to decide things and then just call it good?
  2. It's also not a single decision (let's assume they win at least one series); they could potentially swap relievers for the NLDS based on the results of the first 2-3 games.
  3. I assume @Brock Beauchamp has just been rocking in the fetal position the last week or two.
  4. Thanks for answering the question! I knew they were tops in MLB this year, but nice to see how that compares. I think this is one of the reasons I feel better about this team's chances compared to previous years. Maybe we don't have the "name" pitchers, but how much did that help in years past? The offense doesn't quit and consistently drives pitch counts up, which can help get the other starter out sooner. Our defense is elite, and I'll take our bullpen over anyone other than maybe Cleveland. If we get the best version of Freddy, Frankie, and Tobias (or pick your 3rd starter), I like our chances to make some noise.
  5. I'd be curious how this team compares historically in the 2-out run scoring department. Yesterday was a perfect exemplar of the crazy amount of 2-out hits they've come up with this season.
  6. We're all Cubs fans this week....
  7. More divisions just means more likelihood of a weak division winner who doesn't deserve it. It'd be better (in that respect) to have 2 divisions with more wildcards (say, halfway to the NBA where it's purely your conference standing).
  8. That's like Jake Bauer's entire season.
  9. I can't tell if you're legitimately trying to equate that with this scenario or not.
  10. Thankfully it's not a B Team lineup at all:
  11. Quality congratulatory stroller for Chourio:
  12. Quero is coming back from shoulder injury, what he needs is time in AAA to rehab.
  13. For all the times we've thought Counsell should have been MOY, I will be even more peeved this year if Murphy doesn't win.
  14. Civale with TB: 5.07; with Brewers: 3.84 Montas with Cinci: 5.01; with Brewers: 3.40 Give Hook a raise.
  15. I dunno, recency bias could help him there. But you may be right that the Jacksons will split and Skenes comes out ahead of both of them. There's really no bad vote here. But anyone who has a different person in the top 3 should lose their voting privileges. :)
  16. It would take a lot to make it interesting.
  17. Or just don't put your head down and slide.
  18. Anything to relay about the article? Posting a link doesn't really add to the conversation.
  19. I would generally agree that both Dodgers and Phillies are better teams than the Brewers (as the records reflect), but the Brewers have the best record in baseball against teams over .500. The Brewers are not pretenders. They are legitimately good, somehow, even though we don't have 3 HOF/MVPs at the top of our lineup.
  20. Agree, he may not bat a ton, but I bet we'll see him as a defensive replacement.
  21. What does that mean? They'd somehow try to win against the Mets and not the Braves or whatever?
