  1. It's crazy to me that Jackson has the 15th highest BA in the NL at .274.
  2. Reminiscent of when Hader clearly had no command and Counsell wouldn't pull him.
  3. IIRC from some of Matt's and others' articles, that seems to be the Brewers MO.
  4. Really? I would not be surprised at all to see at least one of them not on the roster. WC round probably neither of them make it.
  5. I would be shocked if Rea does not get game 2 or 3. I would bet #2, just because Myers is a rookie and Rea has been terrific.
  6. Glad to see we're still in first place after the Dodgers series after all!
  7. Yep, they confirmed that the 60-day move doesn't impact the timeline at all, just paperwork.
  8. Rea quietly with the 8th best ERA in the NL right now, and could easily get to 6, maybe even higher if he keeps it up. His BAA is 11th, right behind.... Freddy Peralta. He should get some lower end Cy Young votes.
  9. Agreed. Between this and the more general "why move two people when you can just move one" argument, I would be surprised if Turang moves.
  10. You're going to look silly when they proceed to go 0-7.
  11. 5+ ERA now, he's certainly on thin ice with the upcoming roster crunch.
  12. That's probably true, although it's fairly close. Merrill had an incredible June and is hot right now, but was pretty average for Apr-May and July.
  13. Fun question for another thread: What would his stat line have to be to move ahead of Skenes? How quickly would the Pirates need to shut Skenes down?
  14. When the other team has to bring their closer in down 14-3 with the bases loaded, you know you've worn out their bullpen.
  15. Chourio trying to get to .280 as quickly as possible. As a reminder, on June 1 he was hitting .210. .210!!
  16. Right, since Willy is playing every day, this is a way to give him a half day off.
  17. Seriously. The absolute worst case is you throw meatballs and they hit 3 solo homeruns. Far more likely is you get an out or two and now it's 8-1 or 8-2 instead of 8-3.
  18. Sure, but that's kinda the premise of the post.
  19. I would bet large sums of money that the Brewers will still be at least tied for first place in 7 games.
  20. Projections are always hazardous business. This team consistently refuses to have prolonged bad streaks though, which is encouraging. And yes, other teams have bad streaks too, which is why forecasting the vanishing of a 6 game lead is likely to be wrong.
  21. Waiting for someone to stop by the IGT to remind us how we won't be in first place after the Dodgers.
  22. Based on the first inning, we're clearly headed for a 27-0, 27k no hitter.
