  1. There are school districts just north of San Antonio that are closed through May 11th due to this. People are very concerned, and I guess you should be, but I think you just have to take extra precautions, like wash your hands, don't shake hands with someone and stick your hands in your eyes or your mouth. However, I've been a lot more careful, with a 2 and a half week old baby, because I may be OK, but I might pass something on to her. So I'm making sure to take all of the extra precautions possible.
  2. A-Rod is a jerk. Check. A-Rod is a jerk who stretches the rules of baseball (pitch-tipping, yelling "Hey" on a pop-up). Check. A-Rod is a jerk who may or may not have used steroids previous to his time with the Yankees? Given his track record, it's hard to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  3. Woot! Samldkjsagfgljkfnslvgillsdfgia is back!
  4. I'm a church musician, and am in total agreement with pitchleague. You've gotta check the action (the key actually hitting the string and making sound) and you should be able to get a piano tuned for under $100 if it's been taken care of. It looks like it's in good condition and been maintained, so if you can get it for $150, that's pretty good! Just make sure when you have it in your house, keep it on an interior wall so that it's not exposed to the weather changes as much.
  5. I'm just trying to share with folks that there are other options out there for living other than the cold and snow.
  6. Read Dave Ramey's material. Common sense stuff, but great things to follow! Just make sure to live within your means. That's what has gotten me into trouble. But slowly, I'm getting back on track. NO CREDIT CARDS
  7. I'll take Texans over Wisconsinites any day. No offense intended Wisconsinites. I've met a few I like. I just feel much more at home here. And I don't ever have to deal with snow, or if I ever do, it will be on a limited basis.
  8. Best bet, mid August. Things are already green and going here in Texas.
  9. So, she made it into the world yesterday morning at 12:26 AM. I'm screwed. She looks like her mother, and she's such a cutie. Thanks for all of the advice and I will try to follow as much of it as I can.
  10. That was outrageously awful last night. As I said in the chat, I think Cappy right now would be better than Soup. That was one so difficult to watch. If the Brewers want to go anywhere this year, Soup has to be out of the rotation. I'd say give up whatever is necessary for Peavy, if that's even a possibility.
  11. Dr. Pepper makes anything better.
  12. I sent in my tax returns yesterday. I just assumed that with most states having no money, that I may or may not see the money anytime soon. Still, much happier to be in Texas and not having to file state taxes.
  13. More reason for me to dislike the state of Wisconsin. I lived in the state for 1 month at the beginning of last year, then moved to Texas. I had a refund of $119. But to get it, I had to answer all these questions about not living in Wisconsin, not claiming an address in Wisconsin, blah, blah, blah. Because of that, I couldn't e-file my return. So I most definitely won't see my money until July or so! I'm glad Texas doesn't have state income tax.
  14. I am soooooooo happy the Brewers won! I really didn't think it was going to happen, but wow! It's like a switch has clicked in Rickie's head. He's had his moments of RicKiE, but, much improved at the plate and in the field. I hope that sticks around for the rest of the year! What a great opening day! Oh, and what an awesome slide by Rickie to win the game!
  15. I'm bummed that Samasafagkldfsnglkgsghopsgnsgnia isn't on the roster for the Cubs, because if he was I could type Samsalfdkjgsfdlkjfnhgofihugtsoifgnblfkjhia whenever he was warming up. Oh well. They're still the Cubs and they will get beaten down today!
  16. Which leads to the question, hits, homers or wins? Which will Yo end up with more of?
  17. Stunning. I heard it on the radio about an hour ago while running errands and my jaw literally dropped. Yes, baseball really doesn't matter at this point in time. My prayers are with the Angels team and Nick Adenhart's family. Also to the family of whoever else was in the car with him. What a tragedy.
  18. I probably won't be right. I'd love it if I was, but it's fun to be optimistic this time of year.
  19. Oh yeah, They'll go 1-161. Book it!
  20. I think they will get 35 wins. I'm basing this on 2 things. It's opening day, therefore, hope springs eternal, and also, because they're good.
  21. Rich Harden's arm will fall off.
  22. Now all you need to do is run the shirt again, but on the back put the quote "He just lived his t-shirt" and there will be bunch of BF.netters lining up to buy it!
  23. Yeah, we're not planning on much cartoons. I'm a musician, so she's going to (and has been) very well versed in the good music. Classical, Jazz, Church Music (it's my job), Orchestral, and that will take more priority. I have a piano, keyboard and guitars. So she'll be playing along with me very quick, I hope. We do have a DVR, and that is a huge help anyway. I am planning on making sure that one of the things she gets with "daddy time" is not only musical indoctrination, but sports indoctrination as well. She will grow up liking the Packers, Brewers and Spurs. I'm leaving soccer up to her if she wants to play it or not. But I will encourage her to play sports, as well!
  24. That was awesome. Especially the "He just lived his t-shirt". Beautiful. You would think that Daron would have heard of the Happy Youngster. Oh well. Still fun.
  25. Probably half of them would be propped up by the Cubs folks at the next Ryne Sandberg, Ernie Banks and Ron Santo combined! :-)
