When I was a kid, we were more about hitting the ball far rather than pitching. So we'd shove corn kernels (I lived out in the country) or rocks in the bats to add a whole lot of weight and then we'd duct tape up the balls. Yeah, those would get crushed. Fun times.
More pressure on the Brewers tonight. Noted Brewer killer Jack Wilson butchers a throw to gun down Troy Glaus at the plate (an accurate throw gets him EASILY) and then the next guy up, Rick Ankiel, hit's a homer. Cards up 4-0
So, Short Circuit was mentioned. Something I noticed, and maybe I'm alone in this, but the new Disney movie Wall-E, doesn't the robot look like Johnny 5? That's one of the reasons I don't want to see Wall-E.
The whole Favre thing and the response by Packer fans. Favre retired. The Packers moved on. Favre now wants to play. The Packers have moved on. It's on Favre, in my eyes. If Favre wanted to play this year, then he shouldn't have gone through that tearful crap that he did a few months back.
Don't forget that Greg Gagne is a reliever and Cecil Fielder is our first baseman. And Bucks power foward Charlie Villanueva is moonlighting as the long man in the bullpen.
As tantalizing as Hoffman is, there is the tiny problem of $10 million tied to one Eric Gange, and until further notice, or his arm falls off, he's our closer.
That is freaking hilarious! "Hey Dougie, we could use another lefthanded bat in our lineup. Why don't you try to trade for player x. OK? Thanks. We'll talk again soon". Yeah right. No baseball GM is just going to take phone calls from regular fans, is he?
