  1. Dunn has as much of a chance to make the HOF as his pseudo-lookalike, Will Ferrell, of winning an Oscar for best actor in a drama.
  2. What I hope this does is shoot them on a dominating performance through the end of the season! But outside of that, just shows that even if Roenicke isn't the perfect in game manager, he keeps the guys loose and builds camaraderie.
  3. AT&T bugs me. For whatever reason, my wife's name was on our DSL bill, and we have wireless service with them. We called about changing our service, because it was getting expensive, and the person my wife talked to said we could save about 20 bucks a month just by putting my name on the account instead of my wife's and we can link the wireless and DSL together. Cool. We didn't install any new equipment, changed nothing, and it has been hassle after hassle the last 2 months. Just getting it set up, I had to call 3 times because service worked, then didn't, and then did. We've had times where we had no service, or slow connection, and it wasn't the router, wasn't anything but on AT&T. I call Monday night, talked to a guy, he runs a test to "optimize our DSL", and amazingly enough, IT WORKS GREAT! UGH!
  4. Sadly, yes. I'm not one to complain about calls, but wow, in a playoff game, there were some insane calls and no-calls. I admit, I have Spurs-colored glass, but wow. I am happy the Spurs showed up and battled. They just stopped going to the hoop in the 3rd quarter and were nowhere close to hitting the shots they were in the first half. I just hope they reload for next year.
  5. I am very glad that the Bucks traded Stephen Jackson...and that Golden State traded Stephen to my Spurs. 4 3 point shots for the Spurs in the first half! Awesome, awesome!!!
  6. Here's the deal. The Rangers have made the World Series the last 2 years and fallen just short. Hamilton will be a FA, and will likely get big bucks elsewhere. Feliz is hurt, so why wouldn't they look to strengthen their pitching staff? I'm sure they'd explore Greinke, as well they should. I agree on all acounts. Which is why we're focused on the Rangers as a landing point for Greinke. I'm simply stating I don't believe the Rangers will make Profar available. If the Angels were in the same situation, I don't think they'd make Trout available, and Profar is in that same league. I think a guy like Mike Olt, Martin Perez and a third prsopect is very possible. Very true. And maybe it's not Profar. Granted, a SS would be our top priority, but maybe it's a 1st baseman or 3rd baseman. Or more pitching. The Rangers system is pretty stocked!
  7. Mine were from 1986-1995 or so. I threw them out, because they were overproduced and really, pretty much worthless. Now, looking back at it, I'm glad I did. Those McGwire, Canseco, Sosa, Clemens and Bonds cards really aren't worth anything.

  9. Looking forward to seeing what Tehfiers can do in his shot!
  10. If they don't sell and the product on the field stinks, the attendance will suffer. This seems to be where things are heading. I hope it's not the case, but it seems like the product isn't going to improve, then you either bring up the younger guys, give other guys a shot and start looking to the future. I really believe Greinke could net a good haul of 2-3 solid young players with great upside.
  11. Ryan Braun could pitch better than Bill Hall could ever dream of pitching.
  12. I like Ransturis for the platoon.
  13. I get that it's all about money, but why wouldn't you want the best TEAMS playing in the Championship? Granted, any of Indiana, Philly, Miami or Boston will be demolished by my Spurs, which is fine, but the Spurs have been one of the best franchises of the past 20 years, that plays the game fundamentally sound, and flat out wins.
  14. No, no, he would have overtaken the Rally Rabbit as the most amazing thing in the pantheon of amazing things.
  15. Thank God that torture was not prolonged. For Vinnie or for the rest of us. More for the rest of us than Vinnie.
  16. As a current resident of San Antonio, I'd be all for it. As a former resident of Portland, it would be great for the city. On San Antonio, the desire of many is either football or soccer. We've got a new Area League team, the Talons, and they're drawing OK. There's talk of building a downtown stadium for UTSA, and the minor league stadium is OK. It's on the SW part of town, and for me living on the NE side, it's about a 30 minute drive. But outside of talk about the stadium for UTSA, I haven't heard much in the way of definite plans. And without a team, I think there's some leery feelings, because of the Alamodome.
  17. Welcome to the big leagues? Oh wait, wrong guy.
  18. Hiram, you will be starting. I think you earned it. Hopefully the role is temporary stud....I say temporary because if he keeps pitching well, I'd love to see him bumped to AAA in a month or two.
  19. I saw a tweet last night, that not only 6 ABs. 10 swings. Amazing.
  20. Yeah, but he still has 2 functional ACLs!
  21. How sad for Matty V. to be paired up with McCarver. That's bad. There ain't no overcoming that.
  22. Forget the Cardinals, the Mets are the classiest team in baseball. Period.
