  1. problem is that we may need a CF next year too and if not next then the year after. If Cameron is not brought back i really don't like any of the other in house options.
  2. the genius of uecker on that call was to let the crowd do the talking instead of doing it himself.
  3. heard the new song on 88.9 for new music wednesday, good stuff.
  4. i think you are underestimating how important it is to have a good closer. For whatever reason its just harder to finish the 9th than the 8th, which is why we have seen many good setup men fail in the closers role. Coffey was pretty bad as a closer for the Reds. I'd rather let him continue in his current role.

  7. yeah i have heard some of your stuff on 88.9 and like your sound.
  8. i watched the fsn 2008 recap special that was made following last season and still brings goose bumps.
  9. while it was a difficult season to watch, we still have the memories from last year. By far the final week of the season was the best week of baseball i have ever enjoyed
  10. link personally i like the move but if they can't bring in starters who can't get though the 5th its not going to matter. I don't think bosio did a horrible job but was really in a tough situation.
  11. i always thought creed and kevin were the 2 funniest characters on the show even though they probably have the smallest parts on the show.
  12. "Uh huh, well if he doesn't like it, he can tell that SOB that he is fired. Sorry I'm going into a meeting right now. I love you too. Bye." "If you are lying to me, right now, Pam, your baby is going to come out a liar. That's how it works. They inherit things through the breast milk." "Since when have you known Darryl to rush to do anything, other than to come up here for birthday cake? [lowers voice] "Y'all havin' birthday cake?" i thought there was quite a few laugh out loud moments, especially when Michael was asking Oscar about his pending colonoscopy.
  13. the bonecrushers are still around but not sure for how long. They have changed coaches and rosters in the middle of their 2 seasons. I think the Iron moving to the afl or whatever it will be called will make it tough for them to survive i think. The Iron just finished their first year in the AF2.
  14. found this nugget today: link i wanted to go to an iron game last season but never made it to a game. Without fully knowing whats going on, if arena football league, as it was in the early 90's is returning to Milwaukee i will have to make it to a few games. Mustangs games were fun to be at. I know the iron did not draw well, but the Mustangs always did well. I wonder if this can be repeated, especially with the significantly larger attendance that the brewers should draw next spring. An announced should happen next week.
  15. dvr'd how i met your mother and big bang theory last night to watch when i got home from the game. 2 great shows but i believe it will be interesting where big bang theory goes this year with Penny and Leonard.
  16. He is probably not the answer, but the problem is that there aren't too many answers available. The reason why so catchers like Greg Zaun and Jason Kendall are allowed to catch forever is that there are just not that many good ones. I'd probably rather see Rivera catch next year over Kendall, as he has looked good when he gets to play but rarely gets a chance.
  17. i honestly don't care about the .500 record at this point. I'd rather let the kids play and see what they can do. I posted this on a few threads but i really want Butler to get the start on Friday, now it looks like Manny is getting it. We know what manny can do. I want to see what Butler can do against a good lineup. Axford looked good last night, lets pitch him in a bigger role than 9th inning mop up. I would like to see Gamel and Escobar get the lion's share of at bats. Finishing above 500 and ahead of the cubs is nice, and i'd be happy if we do so, but it doesn't save the season by any stretch. We need to start looking towards next year. I believe ownership really wants to say to season ticket holders that this is 3 straight years of winning baseball in milwaukee and they have turned the corner, but most brewer fans will reject this as anyone can see they took a step back this year.
  18. got the brewers one friday, 1. old school logo window decal 2. current logo / us cellular window decal 3. matt gamel 5x7 4. todd coffey 5x7 5. italian sausage magnet 6. bernie brewer magnet 7. hardy pin
  19. i don't think he did that bad of a job. The problem is that we really need to move past '82 and this wouldn't help. Personally i believe macha deserves another year.
  20. those are the 2 stars, its what we got. Maybe Jennings does turn into an AI type player and he can take the team, there is no way the bucks are going to put that much pressure in a 19 year old rookie though.
  21. i have tickets for friday and saturday and am hoping butler is given the ball on friday. I know we are driving for .500 and to pass the cubs but i'd like to see what this kid has.
  22. Fanatics downtown will have it to, usually 5 dollar cover.
  23. now i just get them at home, but before I did that I watched the fights at Kennedees downtown on Milwaukee Ave. No Cover, pricey drinks though.
  24. just picked up 2 cubs tickets for monday for 4 dollars + free shipping. Even though its been a rough 2nd half, i'm still going to as many games as I can this last homestand. Its a long winter with no baseball.
  25. most of the doings during the second half of the season were not macha's fault. The fact that Soup and Bush went down really affected how he used his pen. The starters only going 4-5 innings also didn't help. The fact he was forced to start mike burns wasn't his fault. The pitching depth in this organization is just not deep. I wish he'd start Butler to see what we got in him. Narverson has no future with the organization. Offensively things fell apart when Weeks went down. There are plenty of moves that can be second guessed but i though while we had the best record in the NL that he was better than Yost and I still do.
