That middle of the order sure is going down meekly these days.... except for a couple of Hall bombs. Although the "glass is half full" view is that we're 7-4 WITHOUT Braun and Fielder producing like they're capable of!! It could be great if they come around...

Yes.. think of this.. they are 7 - 4 with:

- The best defender and #2 hitter unable to play.

- Their #2 starter out.

- 2 blown saves by their closer

- Their #1, 3, 4, 6, and 7 hitters struggling

Of course it might be 7-5 if Suppan doesn't start getting some outs.

We need our pitching and defense to keep us in the game until some of those hits start dropping. I don't feel overly confident right now about that.

Well its looking like its going to be a long day for the bullpen today. Good thing they have Monday off.

This has the makings of a "Seth McClung" game. I was hoping the next time we saw him was in Nashville when he got sent down and Yo was back.

Our pitching has been really good. A starter having a bad outing is going to happen and its going to happen to sheets, yo, villy, and every other starter. How about the bats wake up a bit and score some runs. We are going to give up runs and we have been very spoiled so far this year I think. But our D is certainly not helping any pitcher.

Fielder has regressed since '05 on his defense. I'm not a big fan of that. The Mets guys were saying they were looking to hit it between 1st and 2nd because of Prince and Weeks lack of defense.

It's just bad technique on Prince's part. He's playing to high and isn't bending his knees. That should have been cleared up by this point.

The Mets announcers have said "productive outs" at least 5 times the past 2 innings...and boy is it true.

And here I thought it was all those "productive hits" that were scoring these runs.

Those hits aren't as productive if the Mets aren't seemingly moving guys to the next base on every out.

When the pitcher almost takes you yard maybe it is time for someone else to play.. give Suppan his participation award and let him hit the showers..

So, who comes in to pitch if you are the Crew? You could keep running Suppan out there but who is our long reliever? Is it McClung?

If we had a D playing behind him he is out of the inning a long time ago. He hasn't ptiched great but all these extra outs that we give certainly does not help the pitcher at all. He needs to pitch a couple more innings to save some innings from the bullpen.
