The numbers suggest that this series could go either way. Whatever advantage the Brewers might have in talent is just large enough to cancel out average home field advantage. It may come down to a ball finding a hole or a well timed K being the difference between a solid, 3-3 road trip or another disappointing, 2-4 road trip.

Tuesday's game would be the one to steal. Oswalt might be sporting a bad ERA but his K and BB rate is still pretty solid. The Brewers are going to be the major underdogs.

Now, if I assume that the Brewers home/road split over the last 2+ seasons is representative of their true split going forward, it's definitely not 50/50. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Looking at the splits that Woogie posted, is this the game where Hall gets a start versus a righty? We should be able to see if Ned's "soft platoon" is still in place.

no lineups yet? Ned is hard at work!

"Hmmmm.... does Corey Hart remember how to hit first?"

If you look quickly at the Oswalt picture wOOgiE22 used, Roy's right earlobe appears to be deformed.

Come on, Brewers. There is really no reason you can't be competitive in this game (and wearing the road uniforms isn't reason enough).

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Lol. Hopefully it messes up his pitches.

I really don't see this as a "revenge" series for the Astros. When they swept us last month, they seemed very happy. When we swept them in Milwaukee, they seemed to react like, "oh, okay. This figures since we swept 'em at our place," and then they moved on. No bad blood or anything. This was just my observation (sorry, I don't have any statistical evidence of their blood pressure following the game or anything. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif )

Vegas gives McClung and the Brewers about a 1 in 3 chance of pulling this game off tonight. Ouch. Steal one here and all of a sudden, this road trip is looking very good.

I really think Vegas baseball odds are way out of whack at the ends. Its really hard to say any team has a 2/3rds chance of winning any game.

McClung - Randy Johnson gave me that warm feeling inside.

Sheets - Jimenez looked like a loss immediately

McClung - Oswalt is like that second shot of tequila warm again

the amount of strikeouts the bottom half of this lineup could produce is mind boggling. still glad to see Hall at 2B.

I'm just giddy to see Hart at the top of the lineup finally. Hopefully he can provide a boost and get on base for Braun and Fielder; however I hope Russell can provide some protection for Prince like Corey has done most of the season.

Not that line up order matters greatly, but I might have put Cam behind Prince and Russell down one, but whatever. I agree that JJ is a bit of a stretch in the 2-spot, but unless Ned is going to move Ryan there (which I'd be OK with), he didn't have a lot of choices.

Good luck to Billy. Might be has last-best shot with the 'Crew.

I agree with Davego. Don't understand batting the two lefties back to back.

Hall has terrific lifetime numbers vs. Oswalt. I won't go so far as to say it's "his last best shot" though. Remember it's Russell Branyan who he's platooning with, not Eddie Mathews, and Branyan is going to hit the skids sooner or later.
