Looks like it'll be Mota in the 8th. Let's just keep tempting fate, shall we? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

wouldn't shouse have to pitch to one batter? i thought that was brought up on tuesday, shortly before henry blanco pinch hit for the pinch hitter daryle ward...

yes once the pitcher is announced he must face one hitter. I wonder what would happen if he "faked" an injury there http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Stupid work at 4. I heard about way too many devastating losses in '07 via text message from my brother (A-Ram walk off, double header in StL) to want to do that again.

And doing it all without a HR. Crazy.

Braun has hit the ball more on the nose today. That could be a good sign.

I thought he was putting some good strokes in last night. If he can get hot with Prince, oh sweet days.

Yes I believe if you bring in a relief pitcher they have to pitch to one batter.

Yes, I meant to say Mota for the PH in the pitchers spot.

That 4 run inning has my head spinning.

Why not get Torres ready now so he can come in during the eighth if Mota gets into trouble? I'd rather have Torres facing the tying run than Mota.

Doesn't help that Fontenot has a 3 inch strike zone.

On a different note, I'm kind of surprised that the Cubs haven't been running on Kendall more. During the sweep in Milwaukee it seemed like every baserunner was trying to steal, and that led to a ton of runs. Fontenot didn't even try to take 2nd on that ball that got away from Kendall.

That sure looked like a strike on Gameday...anyone care to comment?

It looked like a strike, but I thought Kendall did a poor job of framing it.

Doesn't matter now, MOTA!!!

You know we really should give Ned and Maddox credit for not giving up on Mota when the rest of us already had.

He has really pitched well for a long stretch now.

Mota has some filthy stuff. He's very good when his command is on. Honestly, I think Gagne has some pretty good stuff, too, but he just hasn't be able to put it together this year.

looking at gameday the last ball to fontenot definitely looks like a strike, the others appear a little above the belt, and MAYBE JUST outside, but the little guy on gameday isn't exactly the same size as the batter... so... you be the judge
