2009-08-17 Brewers (Villanueva) at Pirates (Hart) : 6:05 CT [Brewers lose, 9-5]

[hawing]

As the Brewers' Facebook page optimistically asked, "Is PNC Park ready for the Brewers? The Brew Crew is 8-3 in Pittsburgh over their last 11 games." Way to conveniently not mention how much time is covered by those last 11 games. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Brewers' lineup, per JSOnline, is a repeat of Sunday's starting nine:

2B Felipe Lopez

3B Craig Counsell

LF Ryan Braun

1B Prince Fielder

CF Mike Cameron

RF Frank Catalanotto

C Jason Kendall

RHP Carlos Villanueva

SS Alcides Escobar

Get some swagger back! And no injuries, please.

[ilovebeer]

Go Brewers, lets have a big night.

[ilovebeer]

i love lopez

[ecjimg]

How many times will Braun be hit by a pitch in this series?

[ilovebeer]

i like early leads. i love the boos from the few peoplw there

[stalton]

Is PNC park trying to compete with Land Shark Stadium for fewest people in attendance?

EDIT: Wow that was smoked

[sauveb]

Carlos has absolutely zero command of his pitches tonight. He's just chucking it up there with no idea of where it is going.

[sauveb]

I wonder who Chris Bosio's personal trainer is?

[sauveb]

Nice call by Tim Tschida, the pride of Turtle Lake, WI.

[wibadgers23]

Carlos is doing a good job of making sure we have no chance of winning tonight.

[brewcrew779]

Carlos sucks. I dont know why we even bother sending him out there. Pirates must not have gotten batting practice and Villy is out there to help with that.

[Mr QL]

So how long until the Pirates randomly bean one of our guys?

[T B0NE 10]

Fielder NEEDS to be re-signed

[sauveb]

The only hope that we have of re-signing Prince is if he would fire Boras as his agent. There is no way that Boras will let him sign without testing the free agent market.

[stalton]

Fielder NEEDS to be re-signed

For his stick and his glove

[BrewCrewForever]

Rivera not playing again is laughable.

[Invader3K]

Yeah...maybe Fielder will fire Satan, otherwise I'm not going to hold my breath for him to re-sign, unfortunately.

Maybe between this off-season and the next, the Brewers can publicly offer him a huge contract, akin to the offer they made to Sabathia. Put Fielder into the court of public opinion and put the pressure on him to show his loyalty.

[Buckylovesbeer]

Its going to require our owner to open up his pockets a bit, because our current salary numbers will struggle with a guy who will be offered 20 mil a year from American League teams

I also would like to add that its hard not to like Cam....great D, a homerun every once in a while......will they re-sign him?

Cam to left and deep!

[Buckylovesbeer]

Cat and Council are like the old school player/coach type players. Both having nice seasons.....

[BrewCrewForever]

Does Colome remind anyone else of Jorge Julio?

[wibadgers23]

Our pitching is horrendous. I'm getting sick of this crap.

[Invader3K]

Does Colome remind anyone else of Jorge Julio?

Yes...looks similar and about as effective.

[sauveb]

If we can get Prince two more at bats in this game we have a great chance of winning.

[Buckylovesbeer]

I agree 100%, we need a new pitching staff
