The Badger game cannot come soon enough!

Really wish I could sit in on the phone calls from UW to ex-Assistant Rob Jeter (since UW-M beat Butler this year). I'd be surprised if there is any wrinkle Butler can throw out that UW isn't going to be prepared for.

It really is going to come down to who hits their shots, particularly from the perimeter....and limiting the opposition to one shot / possession.

BO already stated he would not talk to Jeter about the game. It is frowned upon to get scouting reports from other coaches. He talked to Jeter this week but alluded to the discussion being about something else - very likely the Bradley offer
I've never understood this. In High school, i know all the coaches in my conference would give film tape to the other coaches from their previous games(it was football, but still) if they were playing the other team the next week(for example, Team A played Team B the previous week, A would give Team C the game film, as Team C plays B the next week). Is it concidered crooked or cheating or something?

I have no idea. I have never really heard about this until this week. Not sure why this is frowned upon.

Vernon Macklin is shooting 46% from the line this year. How is that possible? The guy went 12/48 three years ago from the line!

Seriously, I could probably shoot 25% with one arm, no joke.

I really don't understand how a guy who shoots 25-30 shots a game, shoots threes from all over the court but only makes 40% of them, and plays no defense can be a great player.

There's no way I can stomach watching stupid Butler beat Wisconsin, but I think it's about 75% likely that it's going to happen. Rough night ahead....

EDIT: To put things in context. To any Brewers fans who get riled up about the Cardinals and their "classy" arrogance, just spend five minutes talking to a Butler person and let them prattle on about the Butler Way. Horrible, horrible people.

Taylor is getting some serious double teams. He scored right away as soon as he got isolated.

Taylor is playing like garbage...even that shot he made he should have passed the ball in the post. They keep talking about the Badgers size although the Badgers never take advantage of it because their big guys all are at the 3 point line

Let me rephrase-they all look like garbage out there

Nankivil is the softest 6'8" player ever. Loses every 50/50 ball he's involved with, doesn't box out well, doesn't even attempt to post up. So frustrating.

Looks like the game plan was to beat them with jump shots. Not sure why. They've had some mismatches inside. The officiating has been terrible on both sides but hopefully the Badgers can get a few back before the half. I'm nervous but there's plenty of time for them to wake up. At least they are shooting well.

I don't remember a time I've seen a team mishandle the ball so frequently. It's gonna be tough to win a game when you have 2 1st team all Big Ten players who are playing like they would struggle to make a Divison 3 team. Hopefully Bo rips into this team at halftime and they actually show a semblance of wanting to win.

Putrid first half. Absolutely disgusting lack of energy for a Sweet 16 game. Terrible ball handling, Taylor looks lost, and they're being completely out-hustled on both ends of the floor.

Blech. Wake the hell up, Red.

The Butler way looks like the Badger way.

Interestingly enough...it kind of is (or was, at least). http://www.midmajority.com/p/1997

Excerpt:

The Butler Way is old, new, blue, and most definitely borrowed. It belonged to Dick Bennett first. He was the head coach at Wisconsin-Green Bay from 1985-1995. In the late stages of his successful time there, two mid-major head coaches -- Jim Larranaga (then at Bowling Green) and Butler's Barry Collier -- met with him. Instead of sharing the secrets of the packline pressure defense, Bennett gave them The Way. Except that he called them his "five non-negotiables."

This meeting really happened. I'm not making it up. Within two decades, each of the three men in that room went to the Final Four. Larranaga with George Mason in 2006, Collier as Butler athletic director in 2010.

EDIT: P.S. Valpo, care to share where you pulled that 75% figure from?

God do I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Butler. I just want them to go away forever. So bloody sick of those spoiled bastages. And Badgers, why pick tonight to have your worst FT shooting night of the year???

As a die-hard follower of one of their conference foes, I know what they're capable of -- criminally underrated, impeccably well coached, talented, gritty, and lucky as sin. (What, five of their last six tourney wins have been decided by two points or less? Something like that.) They're an enigma that just plain gets the job done. (And their sense of entitlement precedes them. Maybe that's the key.) They didn't look any different in this year's conference tournament or NCAA tournament than they did last year ... Hayward or not. I've assumed Wisconsin was doomed since the matchup hit. Been fearing the game all week knowing it was bound to ruin my weekend. Stupid Butler, I hate you so damn much.

I hope Wisconsin comes out and absolutely destroys them in the second half, but it just doesn't look likely.

Man, Wisconsin can absolutely not get a roll right now.... two layups that roll out of the basket on the first two offensive possessions. Just crazy.

Do injured players get to travel now? I don't understand how that wasn't called traveling on Smith. I know it sucks he got hurt, but he still clearly traveled with the ball in the process.
