2011-07-16 Brewers (Greinke) at Rockies (Chacin) - [Brewers win, 8-7, on Weeks homer]

Braun didn't look right from his first at bat on Thursday.

I agree with you BCin2004. Most likely another large blunder by the FO. Lately, I find myself saying that too often.

They do seem to handle injuries quite strangely. Never seem sure how serious they are or how to handle the return and recovery time.

So now they say it is tightness in his left calf and hamstring. Geez.

With as many pitches as YuniB swings at, does he really need to practice swinging the bat?

He only took one swing, replicating his approach at the plate.

Wilson was out at third, Chacin just couldn't get the ball out of his glove. Lucky to get runners on second and third. Come on, Corey.

Why wouldn't you just bunt Greinke here?
I would have. I would want him to pitch the 7th. He has been darn good tonight, but you know how teams feel about pitch counts. They baby the pitchers as soon as they get near 100. Sometimes they need to let the guys stretch it out a bit.

Please don't squeeze bunt, Ron.

This situation is just so important that it wasn't worth risking a bad bunt. The bullpen is well rested and K-Rod is due to get his first appearance tonight.

These are some huge at-bats coming up here. The Brewers really need to win this game.

I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that he just aggravated the same unealed injury he was playing with. They played him out of desperation (and Braun saying he could play, probably out of his own couarage/fear) and now they will pay the price for much of the rest of the second half. It's the price you pay when your team has no depth.

Wow, Todd. That was awful. Just awful.

Way to show me up, Ron. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Wow this feels great. I had some thoughts about giving up on this game, but I'm glad I stuck with it.

Looked like a good call at home.

Ump was in a bad position, but that's a bang-bang play. I think Corey might have been out, though.

Wow, a umpire that actually calls the play and not the ball. The ball did beat Hart, but Hart slide into the home and got a piece of it before the tag.

Maybe more minor league umps should be up.
