Zack Greinke

14-5, 4.00

Greinke might have looked erratic in his last start on Friday, but he credited a young Astros lineup for making him work. The Brewers are 17-6 when he takes the mound.

Chris Carpenter

8-9, 3.92

Carpenter has had trouble this year avoiding the big inning, and that's a dangerous trait against a Milwaukee club that can score in bunches. The Cardinals have lost Carpenter's past four starts.

If Hairston weren't hurt, Green wouldn't be in there. We've shown no inclination to put him at SS sadly. I would prefer Green higher up but this at least splits up the lefties for later in the game.

I'm going to relish at least a six-month break from typing those STL names into an IGT lead post.

1-0 for Wednesday, Brewers? Come on and give Chris Carpenter some 'splainin' to do.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

This is probably the exact lineup I would have written today, assuming Green can play 2B and Hairston is unavailable

I don't like Yuni bating 8th like some suggest. If it comes up where a pitcher wants to work around the 8 hitter to get to the pitcher, I would rather have anyone than Yuni at the plate, including some pitchers. Have to bat Yuni 7th.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

If the pitcher wants to work around the 8th hitter, wouldn't that suggest not giving him anything to hit so he walks? Unless of course you're talking about that happening and Yuni still swinging at garbage pitches.

This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

Only reason McGehee is batting in front of Green is because Roenicke wants a R-L-R lineup.
Since when? DPR has made lineups with back to back to back lefties several times this year.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

That is exactly what I'm talking about. Yuni will definitely swing at those garbage pitches.

DPR is what logan calls Roenicke. It's a movie reference.

I'm surprised that Roenicke is starting Green at second tonight. I look forward to seeing what he can do at the position.

Very nice, even if most people don't really know what it means.

It's not really nice when he's completely wrong about it.
