MVP Baseball 2005

I still think this is the best baseball game to come out in a long time (for Xbox anyways). I have an Action Replay at home and want to get the updated rosters for this year. Anyone have any idea on a good site to get them from? Thanks.

I agree it's still the best game I've played and I've pretty much ditched 2K7 for it now. I'm also wondering how to get updated rosters because it's not fun creating J.J., Prince, Yovani, Braun etc.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Buy a used PS2 system, and buy the new MLB '07 The Show. '06 was solid, and even if they simply updated rosters, etc., I'd feel like I got my money's worth.

(if youv'e got the $100-150 lying around, that is)

I can't help with specifics, but I do know that there are a few places you can send in your memory card to get updated rosters, I don't know about cost though.

I second the nod for The Show '07 (for PS2 anyways)....it's basically the same as MVP...but with updated rosters and I think some expanded owner features. It's the only baseball game in the last couple years that I'd recommend, basically because it plays just like an updated MVP, which is what you're going for.

I don't really know how to do the rosters, but I have it for XBOX and it is awesome. The only problem I have playing it is that it is too easy to hit unless you are facing somebody.

Yeah, this was a great game.

All the exclusive rights deals turned me completely off videogames. In the span of a few months, the best football game (2K series) and the best baseball game (MVP) were taken away. Ever since I just can't go for games anymore. It was like an end of innocence.

Same with me. The only game that I really buy now is the NCAA Football series, but I don't think that they bought rights to that, just the game sold really well. Also, I buy a lot of used games in East Towne Mall at EB Games in Madison now. I probably won't buy Madden 08 this year because they really need to revamp the rosters and get more in-depth with the teams.

if this is the problem, then you really need to play around with the sliders. On the PC they have them and I would assume so on Xbox and PS2 also. Mess around with them and they change the game dramatically.

I've got mine set very realistically (to me, at least). It took me a good 4 months to get them the way I want them to be, so it can take some time to tinker.

Yeah, MLB 07: The Show is kind of like an updated MVP Baseball. (I never had '05, but still have '04 for Xbox, and it's a great game). The thing I've been playing a lot in "The Show" right now is the "Road to the Show" mode, where you create your own player, and then only play his at bats and fielding situations. You get points to improve your player's skills, and start in spring training. It's a lot of fun. (Although I'm still kind of getting used to the hitting system a bit).

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the messages. Tried eamods and mvpmods and those two sites are really hard to navigate. Kind of surprised because they seem like well traveled sites. Really makes you appreciate how well Brewerfan is setup and kept organized.
