I agree, if Yost were my employee I'd fire him for that level of gross incompetence. Most of the season I think the bullpen complaints have been out of hand but that was probably the single worst management I've seen of a starting pitcher in my lifetime. He left him at minimum 2 batters too long and most likely 4 batters too long.

I am not a huge Yost fan, and I don't want to reflexively blame him for the slow hook with Cappy. But the disaster seemed foreordained after he walked Jimenez. (I was thinking, "Come on, Grady Little, get out there . . .")

Anyway . . . come on All-Star break . . .god knows that we need it. . . .

Horribly managed game. This team loves to limp into the AS break, and then completely fall apart in the 2nd half. Hopefully the latter does not happen this year.

LOUD NOISES!!! Going 2 and 5 against Pitt and Washington is a disgusting way to end the first half. Luckily we back our way into a 4.5 game lead at the break thanks to our lame division. We can't keep it up, our luck will run out.

And Ned still can't manage a bullpen......

EDIT: Corrected numbers.

Fire Ned?

I think he should be commended for saving the bullpen!

Yeah the bullpen use with 4 days off was just baffling.

How long did it take him to warm up Wise? Was it after the second batter reached after the 2 run homer?

Mind boggling. If there's a day in the middle of the season in which you can go ahead and "burn" your bullpen, it's the last game before the Break. No reason at all to let Cappy hang there. Terrible.

Im so happy that we have the best mop up pitcher in baseball with Gallardo while Suppan and Vargas stay in the rotation. Im also thankful that we wouldnt trade Gwynn for Otsuka because Gwynn is just so awesome.

Yep, I'm pretty sure. Walk, ned meeting, homer, walk, single, Wise throws first warmup toss. Wise also was done throwing one batter later and Yost granted Cappy a shot at yet another batter.

Don't forget Capuano. He's been stellar the last three months.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

2 - 6 July record... talk about stumbling into the break.

My finger pointing goes to Corey Hart...

how about playing all 8 games and batting .176 (6-34) with 1 walk and 0 stolen bases from the lead-off spot, yet flying completely under the radar because of his hitting streak.

Rickie - 7 Ks a - Weeks and his .053 (1-19) July hasn't really helped much either.

there is only so much Braun and Fielder can do.

crap.

RoCo has summed up my thoughts nicely. Yeah, even I was driven to post here today.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Since the end of April here are the stats for every Brewers starter combined.

Broken up individually.

Suppan- 74.2 IP/6.39 ERA/1.69 WHIP/34 BB/39 K

Bush- 75 IP/4.44 ERA/1.28 WHIP/17 BB/54 K

Sheets- 86 IP/3.03 ERA/1.17 WHIP/20 BB/74 K

Vargas- 60.2 IP/4.90 ERA/1.50 WHIP/27 BB/44 K

I don't get it, either. You don't have another game until Friday, for crying out loud. Someone should have been gassed up and ready to go.

And is it me, or has the mound visit been the kiss of death lately?

I had not realized Rickie had a hit this month. Good job Rickie.

I watched every game on the current road trip. My grip is how anyone could be negative at Corey at this time.

He can't work the count because he is seeing strikes early in the count. Outside of his six strike outs and six hits (which by the way 3 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 homerun) of the other 22 official at bats, he probably made 6 weak outs.

Everything else was hit on the nose, just right at someone. As far as steals he's had little opportunity.

I do think he started wearing down the last part of the streak, but Yost was not going to sit him down with it continuing. No coach would have.

He probably needs the four day break as much if not more than anyone on the team.

i have nothing to vent about...we are in first place...we are 10 games over .500...we have the second best winning percentage in the NL...we have 4 players in the all star game...there is nothing to vent about this season if you compare it against the large sample size of the last 15 years.

i have nothing to vent about

Hey--come on over to the Silver Lining thread. Only unfounded complaining is allowed here!

ESPN--I've had it with you

Who's Now? WHO CARES!

The Bronx is Burning--GOOD!

Stuart Scott--no further comment necessary.

Back, back, back, back...--PUKE!

Jay Mariotti--Perfect representation of Chicago--nicely done.

Barry Bonds coverage--HIT IT ALREADY AND RETIRE!

The Yankees--THE ONLY TEAM IN MLB!!!!

Ok. I'm done.

I am just waiting for the first "start Hart in CF and move Hall to Right" thread. I can see it happening as soon as Hall comes back. I can see some of the feelings already.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

What's the over/under for the number of pages in the vent thread for the season? Should we simply the halfway number, or expect more venting in the second half?
Posted
As the seasons continues, I would expect increased intensity and frustration in the vent thread. If the Brewers make it to the World Series, maybe we could see a 140-150 page vent thread?
