Well if we trade Lucroy for a deal like that it is what it is. Injured last offseason and no heavy interest this deadline. Could always hold onto him, but there is risk in that.

It's funny, I've been reading reactions from Mets fans on Twitter. They don't want to give up Nimmo and feel they're giving up too much in a TdA/Nimmo/+1 trade for Luc.

 

Neither fan base appears to be happy with this proposed trade (Mets fans are delusional though).

I can't figure out why he would even want TdA or Nimmo? You'd be trading an elite starter under a cheap contract for two guys that are replacement talents?

Why think so little of Stearns? Not to derail the thread (or maybe to derail it...need a distraction!), but it's not like he's made any awful moves to this point. If anything I can understand not being sure about him yet, but to already think he's no good?

I actually don't mind Nimmo. I like a lot of what he does, but he's not a centerpiece for a player of Luc's caliber.

 

I love Met fans acting like Nimmo is the next coming of Ichiro or something.

We must be getting low balled bad for Lucroy. Nobody is working with the new kid (Stearns). I'd be much happier just to keep Lucroy till the winter meetings than make that trade.

Counsell says that David Stearns stopped down and told him that things are progressing on Lucroy so they thought it best not to play him.

I know he's still got the new car smell here and I get that. But if you look at what he has actually done, it's really not much at best, and flat out selling low at worst. He really did get nothing for KRod, Davis, and if you're being honest about Segura this season, he sold very low on him. Relievers and power hitters and going for a ton and he didn't get anything of value. He made a very nice trade for Villar though. The rest are churning moves.

 

Luc is legitimate best chip out there except for Sale. Let's see how he plays this hand.

 

This mets disaster is just a rumor so of course we will wait and see what really happens.
