1) 2B Villar

2) 1B Thames

3) LF Braun

4) 3B Shaw

5) RF Santana

6) CF Broxton

7) C Bandy

8) SS Arcia

9) P Guerra

Love the lineup, although I thought Pina would get the opening day nod, and I don't understand why Counsell has been tinkering with Broxton at #6, he doesn't seem well suited there, him and Villar were just fine at the top. Hey, it's never too early to complain about lineups.:) Go Brewers!

Thames in the #2 spot seems like quite the vote of confidence for someone re-learning MLB pitching. I have to think going lefty (Thames) - righty (Braun) - lefty (Shaw) is intended to put pressure on other managers: since Braun kills lefties, you can't use the same guy in the pen to pitch to both Thames and Shaw...without giving Braun a favorable matchup (or a free pass).

Will be interesting to see how that plays out in late inning scenarios...assuming we have runners on base.

Go Brewers! Even if they are 1/2 game back before throwing a pitch, it's nice to have baseball back.

Happy Opening Day!!! Looking forward to seeing what happens. Can't wait for the overreactions I will have after a win (boy we could make the playoffs) or loss (man, gonna be a brutal year, might only win 60 games). Here we go 2017.

VERSE

Well, I count up the days in a winter haze

Since the leaves began to fall.

Now it won’t be long ‘til the sun comes shining through.

When the camps start breakin,’ my spirits awaken

To an irresistible call,

Of an old American song that’s always new

CHORUS

And the robin is here,

The sky is so blue.

There’s a band, there’s music

And the flags are flying, too.

The grass is so green,

It’s like never before,

It’s Opening Day,

I can be a kid once more.

VERSE

Now will the champs repeat in the summer heat?

Will the races go down to the wire?

In April ev’ry team has a chance to wear the ring.

And there’s a rookie phenom

Who tore up the farm,

And the fans never seem to get tired

Of chasing the dreams that dance in the air ev’ry spring.

CHORUS

Yeah, the robin is here,

And the sky is so blue.

There’s a band, and there’s music,

The flags are flying, too.

The grass is so green,

It’s like never before,

Yeah, it’s Opening Day,

I can be a kid once more.

BRIDGE

So open the gates

And let the people in.

Let the games begin.

And may the home team always win!

Love that they moved the camera right behind the mound. Much more enjoyable.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

What does the GT mean in the thread title? Go time?
Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Terrible call on Thames. That's not supposed to be a strike this year. Better practice what you emphasize.

And here I was complaining about the called strike 3 to Villar.

Didn't take me long to get annoyed.

It is a bit annoying the pitcher is in the way pre pitch though.

Joe West's strike zone is terrible.

Shouldn't surprise anyone.

When he didn't call Guerra's first pitch on opening day a strike when it actually was or pretty damn close, I knew he was going to be a problem.

Opening day jitters for Broxton.

He doesn't belong batting 6th whatsoever. He was doing well at the top in spring training and for whatever reason Craig moved him down and he starts struggling.
