Nothing worse than an umpire who makes a bad strike call and then escalates it by getting in the player's face.

Didn't seem like a big deal or that he got in his face. They were just talking.

The whole not calling time thing was kinda BS though. I'd be pissed if something like that happened to the Brewers. If a guy asks for time, friggin give him time. That and the called 3rd strike led to that. Inciarte handled it well, but I do feel like it's been happening more where umpires follow a guy back to the dugout and otherwise look for any excuse to toss a guy. They should be moreso trying to keep a guy in the game than looking for any excuse to throw him out. I'm sure Cubs fans(or baseball fans in general) don't want to see one of their stars like Bryant or Rizzo thrown out in the 2nd inning over something stupid like a trivial comment to an umpire, not good for your product.

Chacin had already started his motion. Kellogg did the right thing not granting timeout.

Braun really isn't bringing much to the table right now.

Nope. Better be at least swinging a good bat if you're going to get yourself picked off 2nd with 2 out. Nearing his .725 OPS sweet spot again.

Thames needs to be starting over Braun for the next few games. I get starting Braun with a lefty on the mound but when a righty is pitching Braun needs a rest. I would start broxton over Braun at this point when Cain gets back

I just tuned in and I see this Fried kid who totally shut down the Cards last week as the Braves SWEPT us in three is being roughed up by the Crew. Hmmmm

Braves are going to win the East. I wonder what the Vegas odds were on that?

PS: Damn fine inning by Chacin there.

"Kratz hammers one to deep right field"...no, no he really didn't. He hit a can of corn fly ball to right center, medium deep at most. When is BA coming back>

Apparently he is at a family wedding. Will be back for Marlins series.

I wouldn't say the Brewers " roughed him up" .....they did score 4 runs though.....lol

People get married on Thursdays? Weird.

Braun has been around too long to be committing boneheaded mental mistakes like that.

I think that one's on Perez. The pitcher can't see Braun - he's left-handed, so Braun is behind him. Perez went before the pitcher started his motion; he stopped, and the pitcher knew that if Perez was going then Braun had to be going and turned around and got Braun.

Four runs in 3 innings is pretty rough! http://b3.ifrm.com/5919/67/0/e5027429//e5027429.gif

I much prefer Cain as a hitter but over the past ten days I'm not sure Cain makes any of the defensive plays that broxton does... Thoughts?
