2018-09-15: Pirates (Nova) at Brewers (Davies) 6:10 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 3-1]

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Ok, now how about a big fly?

That would brighten the day for a lot of Wisconsin sports fans.

[adambr2]

No chance Kratz bats this inning, right?

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Vazquez hitting triple digits. The Pirates definitely have some building blocks, especially in that pen.

[mtrebs]

Don’t watch strike three go right down the middle here

[Bulldogboy]

Come on Moose

[yfinn6]

Phew.

[mtrebs]

Good base running there

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Oh man ... Moose stung that one. Shift got him perfectly.

[Bulldogboy]

Good running Braun

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

C'mon Domingo, Hero time.

[mtrebs]

Not enough

[mtrebs]

Could have used that with a runner on third with no outs

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Schoop time. C'mon man.

[82brewcrew82]

This should end quickly one way or the other.

[Bulldogboy]

Could have used that with a runner on third with no outs

Yep.

[mtrebs]

Maybe he’ll get one inside that he can pull down the line

[HarveysWBs]

If there is such a thing as a good 99mph fastball to hit, that was it.

[mtrebs]

Nope

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Ugh ... Schoop cannot lay off the high fastball. It's that guy's kryponite.

[adambr2]

What a tease.

[PinaMadness]

This is just more disappointing because this was a very winnable game. It's not like other games we had where we played poorly and the game was over by the fifth inning. Oh well, burn the tape and come back firing tomorrow.

[mtrebs]

HAVE to win tomorrow if we want any chance at the division.

I’ve said this like 20 times this year. That’s why it’s so frustrating. Win five of those and we are in first place.

[Bulldogboy]

Man Schoop just doesn't make enough contact for me. His role going forward needs to be what? Not sure. Tough loss. Game management wasn't great but gotta score runs. Cubs just don't seem to lose games like these except to the Brewers.

[ReverendBrewmeister]

5-10 versus Pittsburgh so far this year. If failure to win the division would need to be summed up in one statistic at the end of the season, that would be a good one to choose. Edited September 16, 2018 by ReverendBrewmeister
