I bet you the only change to the line up are Kratz and Shaw instead of Schoop.

It would also be reasonable to go Perez at 2b and Shaw at 3b. Finding a way to get Santana in the lineup is more wishful thinking on my end...I would be surprised if it actually happens.

They seem to value Moose's D at 3rd well above Shaw's. If that holds true, With Miley pitching Moose will be at 3rd due to the grounders.

Hernan looked pretty solid at the plate against Kershaw on Friday. I would bet he gets the start at 2B as well. I agree that they seem to dig Moose's defense at 3B, so he probably starts again. It seems like it's been awhile since Shaw has played 3B. I would bet he's the first man in on a double switch this afternoon, though.

My reasoning behind Shaw over Moose involves the 13 innings yesterday and Moose wasn't good against Kershaw first time around. I think many here are underestimating how taxing that game yesterday is going to be on the players. Especially older guys that played the entire game like Cain and Moose. I'd add Braun to that, except he actually looked good yesterday while Cain went 0-6. If there was a good way to get Aguilar a day off I would do it, but the only way to do that would be to have Braun play 1b and get Santana in RF with Yelich in LF. Can't see us doing that.

Any chance that they roll Miley out for one hitter or one inning, then go to Woodruff (3 innings) and Davies (3-4 innings)? That way they could bring Miley back for Game 7. It would also cause the Dodgers to start their right-handed hitters against Miley, then swap them for the power left-handed guys, weakening the bench. That would be a ballsy manager move.

I'm doubting it. Better to play to win today. Probably Davies in Game 6 if he isn't used today, and then Chacin for game 7 if it gets there.

I don't think letting Woodruff go multiple innings on full rest would be punting, though. He was terrific in Game 1. Davies would obviously be much more of a wild card, but they are likely going to have to use him at some point. I'd just feel much more comfortable with Chacin and Miley lined up for Games 6-7 than Davies/Bullpen Game and Chacin.

Yelich crushes Kershaw so hopefully that gets him going.

There was an MLB.com article today about how those numbers are pretty misleading. Lots of infield hits (a few crushed homers too).

I’ll take it.

How long before we see Roberts call CC's bluff?? I'm surprised he hasn't done this yet actually...If I were him, I would start my "righty" LU regardless if it's the lefty Miley on the hill. Here's why..If I'm DR, I now know that whoever the initial "outgetter" is, isn't going to go long(probably 5 innings max). So if I start the guys that I normally platoon with(Puig, Bellinger, Muncy)...sure they face the lefty for one or two AB's, but where I have the big advantage now is when CC brings in righties out of his BP...Now I already have my "guys" in there, in Muncy, Bellinger, Puig, and I'm not using up my bench so quickly..I'd still have Freese, Kemp etc available until the end of the game.

Especially today when I know CC likely can't use Hader to neutralize those lefties..Besides, all it would take for these lefties that start the game is to run into one against Miley. I'm not sure why Roberts hasn't done this yet?? I hate to say it, but it really does take away any advantage CC had before, especially with Hader lurking...without him today, I call "checkmate" on CC.

My guess is Hader is available today.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I doubt it. He has never pitched 3 days in a row.

I suspect he is moreso available situationally than to pitch a full inning. If there was ever a time to push the guy...it's now. He would only even warm up if we had a lead and if a string of 2 lefties were coming.

He threw 20 pitches last night and 8 the night before. If there is ever a time to break the mold, it is now.

this. he's got a day off tomorrow, if we have a lead tonight, and it's within a couple runs, you have to put your best arms out there. Knebel, Hader, Jeffress are all fair game tonight if needed IMO.

Posted this in another thread, but how about starting Woodruff? He's going to pitch today anyhow, so why not start him? That way, you'll know after 3-4 innings how the game is going. Have the lead? Turn to Miley. Losing? go to Davies.

And those of us who believe clutchness is a thing don't believe that the absence of easily quantifiable proof means a thing doesn't exist.

It is equally puzzling to me that people deny a very simple human reality that some people handle pressure much better than others.

I can't believe there is still a debate about RBIs. In 2018. And "clutchness". Lordy.

Haha, did you catch the Infield Fly Rule discussion last night as well?
