2019-06-15: Brewers (Nelson) at Giants (Bumgarner) [Brewers lose, 8-7]

I’ll just say it bluntly and pessimisitically.

The Brewers aren’t making the playoffs without significant improvements in pitching.

Getting cuffed around by the Marlins and Giants should be all the evidence anyone needs, but having to use Claudio to pitch to multiple hitters is the clincher.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

What a sickening loss (Yes, I'm already calling this a loss). There is no way you should lose a game that you led by four runs, especially to a weak hitting team like the Giants. They did it to themselves with bad pitching and shoddy defense. The turning point was Nelson walking the bases loaded to start the fifth. That started the total self destruction.

The pitching is on the verge of a complete collapse and now the Brewers only have one off day before the All Star Game. Playing teams with losing records or not, this stretch might expose the Brewers as pretenders.

I take back everything I said about CC last season. How he has this team in first place at this point of the season in a division that's widely considered the toughest in baseball is a miracle.

Cain's demise as a productive bat is a killer in front of Yelich. If he was last years version. Yelich would have 70 rbi.

Terrible loss. Put most of it on Big Sweat. You donate 3 runs, you usually lose.

a 4 run lead and he goes out and throws 12 balls to 1 strike. Didn't even give Houser a chance to warm up.

That was one of CCs worst games as a manger.

Under no circumstance should Claudio been allowed to face Sandoval with Burners ready.

Unless he velocity ticks up I'm not sure Nelson will ever been a top end pitcher again.

What's the plan with Nelson? Obviously it's only two starts but dude looks rough. Freddy is not ready. Gio still out. This team needs three starters and four relievers and we sho6be ready to roll.
