So, I was drifting in and out of the broadcast so far, but I swear BA said at some point last at bat that Braun attended the U on an academic scholarship. I know it’s my default assumption that jocks aren’t that smart unless proven otherwise, and despite the fact he’s always struck me as well-spoken (for an athlete), but I had to figure he could have made more on a sports scholarship.

Probably so. That said we have no plan for first base after the Thames option. If Grandal has to move there after next season it may give him some additional value for a longer deal.
