The radio broadcast just said New York explained the left hand never left the base. What are they watching??

Anything other than the game.

I just sacrificed about 15 minutes rewatching THE PLAY at 1B.

There is one view from high above the plate. They (Bally) only showed it one time. They ran other angles several times. By that one angle, it looks like the runner’s left hand could have been briefly on the base when the tag was first applied. When the left hand leaves the base, the right hand was on the base through the tag.

Based on that one angle, I would have had a difficult time overturning the play, as well. The other angles aren’t very conclusive about where the left hand is.

I thought the same thing but didn't want to trigger a firestorm by saying so. I think he was likely out but couldn't say 100% he was. Not too dissimilar to the Adames play from the last series. I would have said he was out but again, not with 100% certainty. Of course that didn't stop MLB from overturning that one.

Once again a brewer hitter takes all of the pressure off the pitcher in a tough spot by swinging first pitch. Being patient is a fine line especially with these umps but Jace is not rubbing off on these guys.

Reds won’t have to worry about their bullpen tonight. Castillo looks like he’s going 9 with only 37 non stressful pitches through 4.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

37 is strikes, he’s at 56 total

If we trade for a hitter, I am fully expecting a 2nd or 3rd tier type guy, not a big name.

Then why bother?? If they don't move the needle it's not worth it. You have plenty of those guys that are coming back...Cain, Shaw etc. By getting a big bat you accomplish two things...A. Improve your lineup immensely B. You essentially "cover" for Yelich's struggle's this year...in other words, the bat you acquire is the good version of Yelich.

This is why I've always been a proponent of signing big bats in FA even to 1 year deals..you "cover up" struggling hitters that may be slumping, so it's like you don't miss a beat. But when you sign the type of guys DS does every off season, what does anyone expect?? When you shop at Walmart you get Walmart quality.

well, that answers that, looks like Woodruff will be out for the 5th inning.

Yeah, I misread the box score.

Maybe he’ll be out after 7. The Brewers sure aren’t scoring against him.

Does happen on occasion. Semien as mentioned, Grandall, Donaldson, Gregorius, Moose, Schwarber. The top guys don't but sometimes the next tier do.

I asked this in last nights game thread but is there any chance we can trade for Nelson Cruz and have him play first base.

No. You are not going to have a 41 year old who never played first in his life suddenly play first.

Kind of a double whammy tonight. Woodruff pitching which means very few runs of offense and they scored 10 runs last night which usually means you struggle to score two the next game

This is what makes the Brewers offense so frustrating. Every team is “inconsistent” scoring runs to some extent, which isn’t surprising considering the most influential player on the field changes from night to night. But, the Brewers have been ridiculously “feast or famine” lately. They’ve only scored 10 runs in their last 7 losses and are well on their way to making it 10 runs in 8 losses.

He hasn’t even played in the field literally anywhere since 2018. He’s been strictly a DH.
