Never a doubt. Better team continues to win.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Sorry Bader. No big boy hit for you.

You mean, “sorry dumb

Looking gnome”?

What a nice win. So many years a night like tonight would have ended up a loss with all the missed opportunities but our 3 aces are just that good.

So the Brewers beat the Cardinals, which reading some other threads sounded like something that was difficult to impossible. At the same time, the Reds lost to a depleted Cubs team, which a few of those same posters also indicated was impossible.

Sounds like a good night to me!

I know it’s august but this game has the feel of we got our foot on the neck of the nl central teams

Now is the time to crush it these next two games

Don't expect a lot of scoring in tonight's game. Wainwright (even this older, junkballing version of him) has pretty much always had the Brewers' number. Recipe for success is going to be to hope to push a few runs across early, then hope Burnes is on his game.

While this is pretty much exactly what happened, I am far from Nostradamus. This is been the Brewers' recipe for success in low-scoring games all season.

The Padres are in the midst of quite the free fall against some bad teams lately.

What the heck happened to them. They are all in too

You need the full 40 man roster to win over 162 games. A few key injuries and now they are toast.

Trying to be the 2010s-Mariners of the west coast isn’t working out for them.

Bet the Cards regret letting Wong go, a huge mistake just to save some money. Looking at his batting stats this season, he'd be the 4th best hitter in the entire Cards team, not to mention his gold glove defense at 2B.

They went all in, but key pieces are injured or underperforming - Tatis is always one check swing away from reaggravating his balky shoulder, Darvish is now on the IL, Clevinger is out the whole season due to TJ surgery, Blake Snell has frankly stunk compared to what they expected of him, etc....
