The game is pretty much unwatchable at this point in large part to the home plate ump just guessing at balls and strikes.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

If all they did was have the auto strike zone for Angel, that would take care of 90% of the issues related to balls and strikes

You have to bring your sense of humor with you when this guy's behind the plate.

I wonder what kind of bat we could get for Lauer right now....

Better be a BIG TIME BAT, or no deal.

Agreed. Might be something to consider given that we have two talented young lefties waiting in the wings.

Probably are going to need to keep all of the cheap arms we can. If Lauer is a stud, probably time to trade Woody honestly.

If we're talking IN-SEASON, I would be more inclined to trade Lauer. Also, our top two young pitchers are lefties themselves. Is three lefties in one rotation too much? Probably not, but something to take into account.

Yep. Swinging and missing is so much more exciting than bat making contact with ball.  Glad baseball is putting all their energy into determining the best base size or banning shifts because clearly both of those will fix the swing and miss.

I'm personally not too concerned about righty/lefty. If Woody has a big year, he is gonna make 8 figures. I'm not saying we should trade him but if a team wants to offer a haul, it's something to consider. I feel like trading Woody this year or in the offseason is something the Rays do.

In the offseason? Sure. During the season? No. That Burnes-Woody combo is the biggest reason why we are among the favorites in the NL...
