Believe it or not, Freddy has some of the best peripherals on the team despite a seemingly slow start to the season (2.47 FIP). He's just run into a significant amount of bad luck (.339 BABIP). In fact, his numbers are virtually identical (and in some cases, superior) to his all-star campaign last year. Given this fact and his sterling history at GABP, I'm expecting him to put forward a vintage Freddy performance tonight and be the driving force behind a decisive Brewers victory.

Freddy's getting hit hard. 45% hard hit rate vs 32% last year and currently 35.5% mlb average. Also his whiff rate is down from last year. Most of his numbers compared to last year are a bit concerning honestly.

Not really. A 2.47 FIP and .339 BABIP tells me pretty much all I need to know about what to expect going forward. Sure he's been getting hit a little harder and his whiff rate is down relative to last year, but that's in an extremely limited sample size. He's still striking guys out and the stuff is there. His main problem early on was locating his breaking pitches, particularly his slider, for strikes, but he's been much better at that the last couple of starts.

He was bad Freddy the first 2 starts and very good Freddy the last 2 starts so I will go with the trend and say another very good start is likely tonight (whether Keith starts him in Fantasy baseball or not). A couple of really rough early starts can really skew the data.  I'm way more concerned with Woodruff than Peralta.

Brewers might want to win this one

and not the peripheral or hard hit unlucky ball contest

the one where you score more runs than the other team game

Let’s get some runs and get this guy out of the game before he kills someone.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Good to see Urias making accurate throws from short.

Don't jinx him! I just wanna see a relatively clean game from the defense today.

Why is DH Adames  batting 2nd in the lineup?? Seems like he should be at least a couple of notches lower. For me, CC's  decision making for a while now has been fairly questionable. Ya,ya, I know we've won 19 games so don't throw that at me.

When are rumors about the Brewers stealing signs at home going to start?

While Counsell surely has made questionable decisions in his tenure (what manager hasn't), I will always be hesitant to criticize the guy who's led us to a record four playoff appearances in a row, has us in first place this season, and who is widely considered to be one of the top managers in baseball. As far as the Adames thing specifically, the guy has been one of our best hitters this season and has just recently entered a cold streak. You don't make those kinds of rash decisions based off a few subpar games. Not that batting orders matter that much anyways...

Statistical analysis has concluded your best - or at least one of your best - hitter should hit second. Most good teams I’ve seen have one of their elite bats in the two spot.

For example, Juan Soto is batting second tonight for the Nats.
