The game doesn't even get to the tenth without Hader.

I didn’t say Counsell shouldn’t have pitched him in the 9th. I was talking about having him pitch the 10th in addition to the ninth.

Not the worst idea.  Based on the baby's due date, he's probably expected to be out 2-3 days this week anyway.

I agree ... only 15 pitches in the 9th for Hader ... hadn't pitched the last couple days AND we have a day off tomorrow ... Hader should have been in there in the 10th inning facing the top of their order ...

CC blew this game with terrible game management!

I’m almost positive that if Hader pitches the 10th inning we win this game. Oh well, if this is going to be our worst week of the season, we’ll be all right. Still greater than 80% odds to make the playoffs. Hope they get some much needed rest tomorrow and start out fast against the Phillies when Adames and Renfroe are hopefully back in the lineup.

Will Sophia ask him about it?

Not sure how many times this has to be repeated but Hader has stated he is not comfortable pitching multiple innings.  There is definitely an agreement between Hader and the Brewers that they will only use him for 1 inning and that is it.  The multiple innings from Hader is a thing of the past and there is really nothing CC can do about it.

Fans pay a lot of money to come watch a game and see their best players in clutch situations, AND CC pulls the plug on Hader inexplicably ... what a deflating downer ... what a terrible manager today!

15 pitches ... hadn't pitched the last 2 days ... wouldn't pitch tomorrow with a day off ... suck it up, Hader and CC ... get out there against the top of their order in the 10th inning ... stupid to the max!!!!

More than I want to see Adames & Renfroe return, I want to see if Counsell can move Yelich out of the 3-hole … & Cutch out of clean up

I can give you the answer to that question and you won't like the response.

Terribly disappointing for sure

This team has I'm guessing without looking up the numbers somewhere over 60 million tied up in an outfield where only Renfroe of the guys making big money is not a complete waste.

I would be very interested if someone accumulated total WAR or whatever stat you want to use to rank the brewers outfield in comparison to the rest of MLB. I would bet it’s bottom 7 or 8.

One more thing. Watching the Cubs-Cardinals game last night, I will note that both the Cubs and Cardinals closers pitched more than one inning in a tight game, with Robertson going close to 45 pitches. Ridiculous if Counsell and Hader have pigeonholed themselves into the one inning only thing, particularly when Hader just appeared in two different games on one day.

Hader made it clear a few years ago that he wanted to be used as a classic 9th inning closer and we have gone along with his request. This hurts the team for sure but its what the player wants.

Hader is an employee with a boss - he should pitch as often & as for long as his manager tells him to pitch

CC is ultra-conserative … he won’t ever abuse Hader … but when needed - he should require a 2nd inning of him
