Did Williams throw a couple of cutters?  Or were they sliders?  I don't recall him throwing anything like that before.

It sure looked like a cutter.  The batter (Trevino?) said that it was a cutter.

Maybe he threw it just as an homage to Burnes

Yeah, he was working on it a little more in spring, but has only thrown it sporadically throughout the season. FanGraphs has him at 4.5% cutters so far.

I had no problem with him not playing.  It was nice to see him and Williams in those sharp ASG uniforms but it is more important for us to have him sharp, well rested and ready to go for the second half.  Williams had a nice inning last night so that was good to see.
