Anyone who takes off their “homer” glasses can see that our issues are far greater than a few injuries

This team is at best mediocre & has no chance of winning in the postseason

I’m so tired of all those who defend the Brew Crew & try to point out that it is a long season

It is actually easy to see that we are “average” in an awful division

On a Brewers fansite, you're going to find more apologists, homers, and people who try to be hopeful about a season than not. That's generally how it goes.

I wonder what you would get for hader.

Unfortunately closers aren't valued like they used to be, but it only takes one team.

Despite his recent struggles, unless he's got an actual physical injury that's hindering him, I think he's still going to get quite a haul.

Too bad he isn't Doyle and we could flip him for Smoltz.

LOL.  Smoltz could probably outpitch Alexander (Jason and Doyle)

If thats the case the time has come to trade him.

I know this offense isn't the best in the world, but they're not terrible, they do score runs, and the amount of comments in this thread ******** about the offense is funny when they've given up 9 runs in the game.  I'm more worried about acquiring another starter and multiple relief pitchers.

Brewers are still at 75 % to make playoffs and 66% to win division.    People who follow all these predictive and analytical stats as gospel is just pure folly

i do think it drives people away from the game.

Baseball Reference had us at a 43.2% chance to make the playoffs entering today.. our loss, coupled with wins by both the Giants and Phillies, who are right behind us, is going to lower the further.

And really, does anybody expect this sorry group to even break wind, should they make the playoffs? Because I sure am looking forward to getting embarrassed by the Dodgers again.

The brewers offense is like a AAAA batter.  They feast on AAA pitching and can't hit Major league pitching to save there lives.

With Woody back, Peralta on the mend and hopefully we fix Hader I believe we need bats to put pressure on our opponents instead of hoping our pitchers are keeping the other guys off the scoreboard.

And they're too lazy to look at the other teams in the league to realize that a majority of them either have similar hitting and worse pitching or better hitting and much worse pitching.

The Brewers are above league average in runs scored and above average in runs given up.  Lots of other teams have just as bad of an offense, if not worse, and just as bad of 10th-13th members of the pitching staff if not worse.

This team is a dumpster fire.

12-15 in June

Soon to be 6-9 in July

18-24 since June 1st. That’s .429 baseball. Is it any wonder nobody is coming to the ballpark?

I knew it was bad, but I didn't realize that bad until seeing it.

We’re in the middle of the National League in RPG, and one 19 run explosion from being 11th place. When we’re not hitting the long ball, we struggle mightily.

And you shouldn't depend upon HRs to create offense.  They come in bunches.  Situational hitting is alien to these guys.

Exactly.  If hader, peralta and woodruff can’t execute we stand no chance.  I agree a middle relief option should be acquired for a B prospect but that’ should be a long term type player. Scoring a few runs once and awhile isn’t getting it done, despite some peoples rosiest glasses

Brewers are missing a perfect chance to score 3-4 runs and pad their stats so it looks like they have an average offense.

Looky looky.  How about that for an above average offense.

I understand … point well taken

to be clear - I consider myself to be a devoted fan … I started following the Brewers passionately as a 9-year old when they came over from Seattle in 1970

No matter how much I love them, I can’t help but speak the truth (at least my perceived truth)

This is not a good team

BA getting excited about a fly ball that travels less than 300 feet just to let you know where our offense is right now.

It doesn't mean much but I'm glad to see Rowdy get a homer.

This will get the offense is average people very excited.
