Would love to see a late rally

This has been an odd … back & forth … game

Long, frustrating, entertaining

I can’t not watch

(If you are a grammar nerd like me …sorry for the double negative)

Exit velocity quite important there....

Not sure what you’re talking about, but because I got the link to that data I’ve been looking at some of the numbers for today as this marathon passes the 3 1/2 hour mark.

On Brosseau’s double which was ripped into the gap, the stat cast number gives it an XBA of .270. I don’t have to see many things like that to tell me that this stuff can be pretty useless. Maybe it has value to a team’s analytic staff or a player’s agent to evaluate a player’s performance. But used to put more meaning into a game seems ridiculous. We can tell if a ball was hit hard or not, and quantifying with exit velocities, launch angles, and expected BA doesn’t add anything to my reaction to or enjoyment of a game.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Okay that's you. It still has proven predictive value and is a useful tool. Why virtually every modern baseball analyst uses it.

If Milwaukee loses the game today - which is looking more likely - I assume this would be a rare loss where we score 6+ runs

This would be the 6th.

Most of the others have been games in which the Brewers fell far behind and made too little too, late rallies. That would include the 14-11 loss to the Reds and an 8-6 loss to the Nats.

It's like one of the hitting coaches let the players know before the game that there were three outs allotted in an inning and it was news to them.

OK. That's enough.  No reason to get out of a save situation and get the Rockies back into the game.  Just end the 8th and it's Hader Time.

I remember when the MLB record for a 9 inning game was less than 4 hours.

Now the Brewers seem to get a couple of them every year.
