So with Peralta andBush both activated tonight……..who goes other then Strzelecki?

Hoby doesn’t deserve to go down but he has an option left. McGee has looked good in his tiny sample? Suter ?

I'd bet it's going to be Hoby. He hasn't looked as sharp of late, and is a guy who was sort of getting by on smoke and mirrors anyway, IMO.

CC has had more trust in Hoby this season then Suter.

You could be right but it will be interesting.

Hoby has pitched great other then a few recent outings. His FIP this year is 2.69……whip of 1.07 and has only given up 1 homer in 40 innings.

CC also loves organizational depth. Hoby can be optioned. Suter cannot. That would lead me to believe that Suter stays.

I tried to look it up and I thought I saw that Suter still had an option or 2 left as well?

I might be wrong on that.

I'm sure he's got too much service time so that he can no longer be optioned without his consent.

Looks like we were both wrong

Similar to Lamet, Suter can't be optioned without his consent. I do wonder if the Brewers gave Lamet that option or they just wanted him of the 40 man.

I just like that guy a lot.  He's earned a lot of respect, from me at least, for enduring the constant yo-yo treatment.

I’m not going to expect much from Peralta tonight.

He might be a little juiced to be on the big league mound again, and if he is at all erratic the pesky, patient, Pirates will drive his pitch count up early. One 25 -30 pitch inning might be enough for one night.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Burnes losing to the Pirates last night made a bad day much worse

He's human. It happens. Just gotta move on.

You mean he isn’t “superhuman” like Hader is (or was).

Not sure what you're referring to. But, yes, they're all human.

The Pirates are a really bad team that had lost 8 of 9 since the All Star break and 7 in a row. That includes  a 4 game sweep by the Phillies, who are quickly gaining ground in the playoff chase and added some useful pieces at the break while they wait for the return of Harper and Segura.

Losing another series to this team is not a way to maintain the momentum that came right after the break.

I’m not sure who it was, but way back in June when people thought that Hader was the best closer in MLB someone on the board referred to him as “superhuman”, or something similar.

I think everyone knows that all players are imperfect humans.
