Gasser done after 5 2/3

4 hits2 walks 7 ks only 1 run

89 pitches

Jeez, that 3-1 Biloxi lead evaporated in a hurry, with three consecutive Biscuits reaching base against RHP Luis Contreras, adding an additional earned run charged to Robert Gasser and two charged to Contreras. We've got work to do, down 4-3 going into the 7th inning. C Nick Kahle has a 2-run homer and SS Cam Devanney drove in a run on one of his two doubles.

Ahhhhh yes. That's 2022 Biloxi Bullpen vintage right there. So many options to blow a lead. Ugh. Regardless, Gasser remains very seriously: 'the real deal'.

3B Branlyn Jaraba is having his best game of the year for Carolina, smacking a 3-run shot (his first of 2022) in the 1st inning to claim a 3-2 lead, knocking in 2 more runs with a 3rd inning single to break a 4-4 deadlock and collecting his 6th RBI later on a groundout.

LF Luis Castillo added his 5th homer of the year, a solo shot in the 7th inning and it's now 10-5 in the bottom of the 8th inning. Starting RHP Alexander Vallecillo struggled (5 IP, 4 ER) but RHP Fernando Olguin threw 2 scoreless innings in relief.

Never fear! Nick Kahle singled, Yeison Coca walked and Andruw Monasterio drove them both home with a 2-out, 2-run double to left. 5-4 Shuckers going into the bottom of the 7th inning. Contreras continues.

24-year old former 4rd round pick Kahle has raised his season OPS to "don't write me off, give me more opportunities" .703.

What a game for Kahle. That's awesome!

Carolina's starter-turned-reliever RHP Brannon Jordan hasn't struggled like this since June 28th, giving up 5 runs on 5 hits in 1 1/3 innings of work thus far.

It's 10-9 Mudcats, with the potential game-tying run on 2nd base and still just one out. An infield error in the inning didn't help.

But the veteran Jordan ultimately comes through with consecutive strikeouts (with a wild pitch sandwiched in) to strand that final runner 90 feet from home and preserve Carolina's 4th straight win in the series, 10-9. Well done young men!

Is this a patented Cam Robinson 6-out save in a 1-run game we're looking at here? He's on for the Shuckers in the top of the 8th inning, leading 5-4.

RHP Clayton Andrews has seen official baseball action for the first time since May 22, 2021, retiring all 3 batters he faced in a rehab appearance for ACL Brewers Gold. Welcome back, Mr. Andrews!

Arrghhhh. Cam Robinson retired 5 straight batters and got the 6th hitter to ground harmlessly to first baseman Thomas Dillard, who booted it. That was supposed to be a classic 6-up, 6-down Cam Robinson save for a 5-4 win! C'mon! The next batter walked of course, so now we have drama with Robinson forced to throw far more pitches than necessary.

Cool. Cool. All good. This just gave Robinson a chance to notch his 5th strikeout of the night to end the game. Solid job!!

Save for Devin Williams it seems like the organization mostly stocks their BP through trades, FA signings & the like. So it's cool to see someone like Robinson climb the ladder & see real success. Maybe by next August the bullpen arm we always seem to need to add will be hanging off Cams' right shoulder.

Hope to see Taylor Floyd turn things around too.

Can you give me a comp for Glasser? Ashby with more command and a little less stuff at this point?

Small with better stuff?

What's his upside? A high end #2? Higher?

Well, that’s a pleasant box score to see.

ACL Brewers Gold was down 3-1 with nobody on and 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th inning, but had 5 straight hitters come through, the last being Kaylan Nicasia with a walk-off 3-run homer for a 6-3 win.

That’s his 6th blast of 2022, although he was 1-for-5 in the game. Dylan O’Rae reached base 4 times, Luke Adams 3 times.

Tyler Woessner also threw 3 scoreless innings as he furthers his case for a move to Carolina.

Which is ridiculous, honestly. 6-0 is not a big lead and bunt singles are a distinct part of Ruiz's game.

Is it possible nobody's told Henry that Jacksonville is NOT the Cardinals AAA team, but instead the Marlins?
