FWIW, Narvaez possessed worse numbers at C when we acquired him and we turned him into a well above average defensive C....

I wouldn't say this is accurate, but he did significantly improve his framing during his time here...

The more of a return from Atlanta, the less they're getting from us ?

If we are getting Contreras plus those other guys, there is no chance it is just Ruiz.  I don't think I'll be able to stand it if it's Frelick or Wiemer.

Yeah if Atlanta is shouldering most of the cost then there is a chance we get by with giving up much less. Pina, Ruiz, Muller, and  Tarnok is a solid haul.

Huh? Narvaez defensive value (Fangraphs) 2018-2019: -13.7. Narvaez defensive value (Fangraphs) 2020-2022: +33.4. Of course, that's not a be-all-end-all stat, but seems pretty indicative to me.

I agree more will be involved, but it's also possible that scouts value Ruiz way higher than internet projection systems, and that Stearns did not just "give away" Hader after all

Only way we wouldn't have to give up more is if the Braves sent Ozuna to MKE...But the Winker trade would seem to make rostering Ozuna impossible to me...

I think there is a chance that might be it. Atlanta is shouldering a ton of the cost for acquiring a premier catcher. A's will get Pina, Muller (ATL #1 prospect), Tarnok (ATL #6 prospect), and Ruiz (MIL #9 prospect)
