Random thoughts that are pointless and too dumb to say anywhere else thread: * 2023 *

Just ate at Charley's Philly Cheesesteak in the mall.

$15.05 for a regular sized philly sandwich, fries and a drink.

Craziness.

In a related note, I just finished watching "Planet of the Apes" w/Charlton Heston. It was one of those deals where you're flipping around, come across it & decide to watch for a bit, then wind up watching the whole damn thing. That was actually a strong cast. Although most of them needed to rely on voice or credit recognition to get noticed.

Right now Dick Van Dyke is on CBS and Dolly Parton is on NBC.

I had to do a double-take that this wasn't 1983 and Bob Hope was on ABC.

With all of the new digital technology today, I would not be surprised if Ryan Seacrest was replaced by Dick Clark.

Running Man was based on a future based in 2025.  We are just over a year away.

I remember when we hit the date from "Back to the Future II" in 2015. It was quite a big deal with some people. Like UFOlogists don't have enough to do, they were supposed to spend the day looking up in the sky for Deloreans.

And only 8-years away from Demolition Man.  When are the franchise wars supposed to happen again?

I just read a few days ago that Edgar Wright signed on to remake The Running Man.

I wonder if they'll follow the actual storyline from King's book instead of the made up mumbo jumbo they did for the original movie.

They went with the biggest movie star at the time -- Arnold.  The article really shed some light on what happened with the film.  I like the mention of how Richard Dawson mimicked the modern-day game shows.

Arnold wouldn't have done too well as a malnourished runt.  🤔
