To be fair though, 75% of the WBC hats are awful. The exceptions are the cleanest hats: Israel, China, Panama, the Dominican.

I really like Puerto Rico's hat.

I had to turn this game off in the second inning. Watching that 19 year old A baller brought nearly to tears after getting rocked by a Murderer's Row was not "fun baseball". And then Canada brought in another A-baller to replace him...

What does the top of the USA lineup have between them, something like five MVP awards? That's not entertainment, it's just painful.

Bratt faced at minimum probably 4 future HoFer in Trout, Goldschmidt, Arenado and Betts. Seeing him on the verge of tears was brutal.

Nicaraguan pitcher Duque Hebbert struck out Juan Soto, Julio Rodriguez, and Rafael Devers in an inning of scoreless work. The 21-year old then proceeded to walk back to dugout and was greeted with a contract from the Tigers scout working for the Nicaraguan WBC team.

Mexico beat Great Britain 2-1, Rowdy Tellez going 1-4 with a double, Urias a late inning defensive replacement at 3B. Interesting story is their bullpen catcher ended up getting the start and plated both of Mexico's runs for a nice feelgood story

Adames didn't get the start vs Israel, Pena got a hit but hoping a big outing for Adames next game and a chance to nail it down in the next round

PR vs DR in an elimination game tonight is be must-watch baseball. And now we're going to get Cuba playing in Miami in the semifinal which is guaranteed to be another crazy atmosphere. The crowds have been the best part of this tournament.

Alex Hall leading off the top of the 9th, with Australia just one run down against Cuba... can they mount a monumental comeback?

I had to get my kids out the door this morning, really bummed I missed that game, it looked awesome.

Urias is not having a fun time in the WBC so far. 1-10 with a BB and 3 double plays at the plate then a crucial 10th inning error in their loss vs Columbia.

Yeah it did, I thought once Cuba got a lead it was over, but the 2 run jack in the next inning got me all excited, a couple of missiles finding the man or double plays just hurt Australia. Hall did really well for them though

Tellez has been the 2nd toughest out in the Mexico lineup (behind Arozarena). He looks dialed in. And even some of his outs have been sharply hit into the exaggerated shift that we are seeing for the last time.

Yesterday Rowdy was 1-4 with a double. These were his batted ball metrics.

98.6 EV, 4 LA, 94 FT, lineout to 1B.

111.7 EV, 9 LA, 305 FT, double to right center.

115.4 EV, 13 LA, 342 FT, lineout to RF.

95.8 EV, 29 LA, 350 FT, fly out to left center.

Just really good contact but some unfortunate batted ball luck.

A carryover from last season. You figure it has to turn for him at some point, and when it does, look out…

Adames once again on the bench for DR. Honestly really frustrating that he only played in one game during the group stages which likely means he won't be playing if they advance to the Quarterfinals. I have a feeling the Brewers are likely very upset with him hardly being used.

I'm sure they're glad DR got bounced tonight and Willy can return to camp now. No reason Pena/Franco/Marte should have been playing over him.

Absolutely agree. DR making a deep run with Adames stuck on the bench would have been terrible for the Brewers. Huge win for us that they lost.

Wow. Edwin Diaz might've just blown out his knee in PR's celebration. Would be a fairly big impact for the NL playoff picture.

Did not look good. Would be a massive blow to the Mets. This also sucks for the WBC because the last thing they needed was a star player having a devastating injury.

Given the age and mileage of most of the Mets' staff key arms, Diaz is going to have plenty of expensive company on the IL this season.

I do hope it's not as bad as it appeared to look on the field (his brother was in tears) for Diaz....but if it is indeed as bad as it appears it's a start to what I think will be a glorious season of watching a team with a payroll the size of a 3rd world nation's economy play 0.500 baseball.

DW looked on top of his game in the 8th inning today.

Zuniga, pitched 8th inning for Columbia, has looked absolutely filthy this WBC and unfortunately the Cards picked him up this offseason.
