I'm a fan Brice....

I told y'all. Such a fantastic baseball player. He's been perennially undervalued and underrated. But, he's the kind of player you love to watch play baseball. So smooth, fundamentally sound, and such an underrated overall athlete. Glad you're enjoying his play!

I can’t get over how fast the rookies look. Like wut.

LOL. Yeah, it's a very real thing. Every pre-game last year in Nashville the opposing managers and the opposing players mentioned how there was no room for error. They are all insane athletes. SO fun to watch.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Junk update: He's touching 95 mph on the radar gun here early (surprising, admittedly). He's starting to find his curve ball (sitting upper 70's). The ump is not giving him the outer stripe - which is a shame as he is really nailing the outside half. All in all, a very good start. I could definitely see him as a long reliever with the big club this season. He has a solid four pitch mix.

You actually can teach speed.

There are limits.

Statcast has his max FB at 94.2 so not quite 95

Yeah, I'm going off Jeff Hem in the booth. Thanks for the more precise info! Hence, I was surprised. LOL.

Agreed, didn’t understand that one.  At least it’s nice that the weather turned a bit today and the bats woke up… certainly fun watching the young guys have some early success!

Welcome to Brewer Fanatic, hope to see you in game threads all season!

The speed difference with Mitchell, Wiemer, & Turang vs Voit, Tellez, & Winker … incredible

I hate to admit it, but this Cubbies team looks pretty decent … maybe an 81 win team

That was my preseason prediction. Battling with the Brewers for second place in the division.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

LOL. I hadn't thought of it that way but LOL.

I hope they keep the youngsters back to back to back for speed - they might otherwise lap the slower guys

Can the young guys/newcomers be player/hitting coaches?

They haven’t been tarnished yet.     Soon they will be home run or k guys soon

How awesome it would be if Lauer got through six innings only giving up two runs for a quality start

That would be quite an achievement after his shaky start today & following an uneven Spring Training

Spring training clearly doesn’t matter to Lauer. 10+ ERA each of the last three seasons…
