Gotcha. Like I said, I was out, and I've been skimming the game-thread. Missed it.

The Peterson reference was in the post you replied to

It's absolutely not my job to tell you how to feel about a player.

It's absolutely my job to talk to you about how you voice those opinions on my website, especially when it comes to the detriment of other users.

Hopefully you aren’t suggesting that because you bought a website that many of us enjoyed before you came along that you now get to be condescending to users who express their opinions on a player’s poor performance

My interpretation of your suggestion for me to take a deep breath & consider our record was that you were rude & condescending

I’ve not attacked other board members or picked fights with anyone … I have expressed frustration over Yelich playing everyday despite his ongoing 3+ year slump

A 2.7 WAR and .355 OBP is quite serviceable, actually....Nowhere near what we paid for, but it's serviceable.

A great bench player or a bottom of the order bat 😉

I wonder if trading Burnes to someone who would be willing to take Yelich would make sense. It would hurt the return of course but it would be worth it. You have his replacement ready to go in Frelick so you might end up with a better situation for everyone.

If they do that, the next move will likely to be to sell or move the team.  I can't imagine a trade that would look worse.

I mean sure, if you have the best lineup in baseball maybe.  For most teams an above average hitter in the lineup everyday isn't a huge problem.

Anytime yelich is walked it has to be a huge mistake in scouting or execution

”let’s not throw him anything too good or he could kill you with grounders that might get through the infield”

You are being very rude to Brock. Zero need for this. We get you don't like Yelich, but please tone it down.

I responded to his suggestion that I take a deep breath & consider our 6-2 record

My comments were about a player who has underperformed for 3+ years

On one - not even the site owner - should instruct forum posters to get perspective

That is not anyone’s responsibility

I didn’t attack or curse anyone … I expressed frustration with Yeli’s poor play

Feel free to send me a private message or a text … my cell is easily found online … but there is no need for you to “instruct me” here in the board

Anything that removes Yeli & his contract for the next six years would be a plus … even it that lowers the return on the trade for Burnes … I’d be all for it because we could play better players & have $ to spend on replacement pitching

Maybe. But also if it frees up money to lock down the emerging players for 8+ years, that’s something fans can get behind.

There wouldn't be any return. We would have to add at least Frelick, too, to get a deal done..

Pretty sure you mean “phoning it in” but given tonight’s game, your version is way funnier.

Neither Lauer nor myself were quite on our game...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

This is actually a good joke and I take it in stride.

But when we took over this site, it was in wild decline. It would not have lasted three more years given its current rate of decline.

We've had more registrations in the past 12 months than the previous 36 months combined. Our user count is where the site was in 2018, which is literally triple the count it was in 2021.

If you like this site and want it to continue to exist, this is the path forward. Feel free to tell me I’m an idiot and tell me all the things I’m doing wrong and I’ll listen every time. But also realize this site you love wouldn’t exist for much longer without our influx of cash and stewardship.

Don't dangle carrots in front of me this close to Easter.

I appreciate the sentiment but realize I run multiple communities that tens of thousands of people visit a day.

I’m fair game for people to ***** and moan about. No one should or needs to defend me. I can and will explain my actions openly and willingly to all who care to listen.

That’s literally the entire point of why I do this and how it separates this site from the SB Nation sites of this world.

Lauer is going to need to get things figured out before the next start. That was not good.

There's a reason his Fip is above 4 yearly. He's playing with fire and was burned tonight. First 3 innings he allowed the leadoff batter on base. Got away with it in 1 inning. 6 runs the other 2 innings. You have a whip over 2 and allow 2HRs. No surprise they were 2run HRs both.

Lauer’s velo is down 2-3mph from where he was in most of his ‘22 starts. This is a major issue. I listened to his presser last night and when asked about his lost velo, he brushed it off as no big deal, that he can still pitch effectively without his velo — no he can’t.

I don’t think he’s injured, or he wouldn’t be out there. I think he’s battling his mechanics. If he can’t turn it around at some point the team needs to seriously consider moving him to the pen.

Lauer is probably one of the more frustrating pitchers on our roster to watch. There are times he makes you believe he has ace upside and there are times he makes you wonder if he even belongs in the bigs at all.

On what planet does Lauer ever have ace upside?
