That isn’t going to be overturned.

I can’t believe Adames didn’t get down there faster.

I agree. Wasn't hit hard and Walker took his sweet time throwing that to 2B and Adames still got doubled off.

The dbacks have a potentially good bullpen situation for the Brewers. Chafin will probably start the inning, beyond that i think only McGough and Solomon are available to pitch today. Castro and Ruiz both threw 20+ pitches yesterday so I suspect aren't available. If any of those guys don't have it, dbacks are kinda stuck with rolling those 2 guys.

This Dback team can hit…….Brewers did a nice job holding them down the last few games………scored 39 runs over the previous 5 games against Dodgers and Padres.

Welp, thanks for trying offense. Bullpen says no thanks.

And so it begins. Though Woodruff was supposed to start today and save the bullpen and instead was hurt. Going to be a rough week these next 7 days.

It hurts when 7 of 9 batters reach base and that only produces 3 runs.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

That's reeeeeeeally close

Classic “call on the field stands”. Would probably have stood if he had been called safe too.

So in small sample size so far…….if the goal was to strike out less and put the ball in play more…….last season k percentage was 23.9

this season…..26.2

still very early obviously……..

Brewerfan posters have been saying for years that the Brewers front office is moving away from high K power hitters to low K contact hitters.  Front office has yet to actually do so.

These announcers suck. They made that play seem like a complete joke of a call.

Its clearly out and the right call.

The radio guys called it right: close but not enough to reverse.

The main TV guy really fumbled talking about it. He made it seem like the guys foot was easily off the bag. Turn mention, heck, maybe even beat the throw anyway. The later is what ended up being much closer after review.

He quickly made another blunder of a call says Chaffin “snagged the grounder” to end the inning. Even though it was a line drive he caught that never touched the ground.

He is better at talking modern baseball than Rock/BA, however, I am glad I don’t have to listen to him on the radio and I can just see for myself how bad his descriptions of plays are.

Brewers were pretty bad last year in games started by someone other than the normal top 5 starters.  Think this year will be the same, especially early with Ashby and Houser out.  The pitching depth is not great.

Another thing that is worrying is that we are below average with the NL in H's, 2B's, 3B's.

Collin Rea is headed to San Diego from Nashville.  His Uncle, a former coworker of my wife, provided the scoop this morning.

At least Junk getting a spot start had some intrigue. Rea? Yuck. He's very Jason Alexander-ish.

Long season.  Top half of the order got off to a slow start. And out mix of bats are heaviest in baseball I read somewhere. How many triples does the average team have? Feel like that would be a 1 below average. 2 above average. 3+ in top 8 of baseball. I'm going to guess there's at least 1 team without a triple. 5-1 at home vs 3-3 on road. So you're looking at less innings to bat than the opponents have had so far. Give it 50-60 games before comparing with rest of the league in that area of stats.

Agree its a long season.  Your right on 3B.  League average is 2.  Brewers are -8 in 2B, we are the worst right now in that category in the NL and 2nd worst in all of MLB.  -3 on total hits in the NL. -1 on 3B NL.

Trend can go up or down and I know its a small sample size but we saw the same trends last year in extra base hits outside the HR.  And the Brewers still have a high K rate.

Time will tell.  It always does.
