While I absolutely love his development behind the plate, I would like to see Contreras DH just a tad more. Just too important of a bat for this lineup. Need to keep him healthy. And Winker has an injury history so you can use the DH to rotate them for health.

Can and will.  There is a reason he is a 7th starter on a low budget ball club.

The Mets are paying their 7th starter the major league minimum.

Fantastic performance……‘wouldn’t mind seeing him get another one if needed

Probably will with Woody still out and Houser ramping up...

Rip the chance at a quality start. I hate the early pulls on accomplishments. 3-1 lead nobody on base and just need 1 out to get it. Let him face 1 more batter so he at least had a chance at the QS feat.

Junk was sent down.

Yeah ik. Guess I'm just saying I want to see Rea as the next option in the rotation th/o the rest of the season than Junk..

CC didn't want Machado to see him a third time. It's a good move.

The 'problem' I had with Junk coming up is he literally has to be perfect with his stuff. There's just no room for error given his velo and minimal movement. He actually reminds me quite a bit of RHP Dylan File - who is pitching in the KBO this season. It's a tough ask. At this stage, he really is a Triple-A pitcher by my eyes. And, that's not a bad thing. But, it's a big ask to expect him to fulfill meaningful rotation innings.

Getting away with some pretty meaty pitches.

That double play ball was middle middle. Right down the gut.

That’s called doing a yelich

The worst that could happen giving Rea the chance at a quality start is he gives up a HR. 3-2 then great start either way.  Pet peeve to remove pitchers at 4.2, 5.2 without getting at least the 1st batter that gives them a chance to complete the inning.

Machado hit a HR off him and a 109 mph groundout. This isn't little league. The goal is to win not get individual achievements.
