It's not embarrassing to lose to the A's.

But it is slightly embarrassing to lose the first game of the series, putting yourself in the position where you have to win the next two games so you don't actually lose a series against the A's, which would be quite embarrassing.

Come on, have to take care of the low-hanging fruit and notch wins against the bad teams.

I agree, it isn't embarrassing to lose to the A's----or any other team in MLB. It's baseball. It's not like Duke taking the floor to play The Citadel. What IS embarrassing is how they played. Some of the pitches our hitters chased, for a neutral fan it would've been laughable. But for all the appropriate wailing on here about the offense, the starting pitching still sets the tone, and Houser was horrible.

The offense needs to perform better, but with this team it's still about run prevention.

The Braves are the best team in the NL and they lost a series to OAK.

They were so embarrassed they’ve gone 7-1 in the eight games since then.

The Braves are also 39-24 and won a WS in 2019. So what?

you contribute so much to this site, but your whataboutism makes me crazy. Don’t care about Atlanta or any other teams. If the brewers go 7-1 after playing the A’s, I guess I will take it all back.

Not sure what drives you so crazy about him pointing out that a very good team lost a series to the As.  I think he is pointing out that the As aren't quite as horrible as people like to think.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

This board has been a graveyard recently

No one comments on game threads anymore

Maybe I’m not the only one who sees this brand of baseball as unwatchable

Yelich just made a base running mistake that rookies avoid

We need to wake up & play focused baseball

Their 15-50 record suggests that they in fact are that horrible. Historically horrible.

We were at the game last night and it was about as dreary a performance as you can imagine.

It started with Houser putting the team in a hole and continued through the game. No hits after the second inning and double digit strikeouts against pitchers who shouldn’t be doing that.

Even against the worst teams and pitchers in MLB you have to score runs to win, and with this offense that is always a challenge.

Hey, that generated some discussion! How about, "Water isn't wet?" 😂

The A’s are that horrible. I think what drives people crazy is when a poster expresses frustration when the team lays an egg like that and someone feels the need  to come along with a comment like that.

Everybody knows that even the worst teams win games and series on occasion, but that doesn’t make the dreary losses easier to take. Comments like that come across as pretty insulting and condescending like “I’m a better and smarter fan than you are because I know that good teams can lose to bad teams.”

Why not just let people vent?

No one was stopping anyone from venting about the team.  Venting about other posters starts down the path to a personal attack, which isn't allowed.

Some people are more pessimistic and some are more optimistic.  If someone else's view bugs you, ignore it and move on.

All I see when Oakland plays is teams just have base runner after base runner on them

and we can’t score.     God.    This gets so damn tiring.     Hit the ball

But why not let people vent without a response that adds nothing?

That little bobble on what should have been a DP could decide the game.

Re-read my last post.  Venting against team, no runs, MLB = OK.  Venting agaisnt other posters = not so good.
