Peralta still has elite stuff it is just that he is not placing his pitches correctly.  They are getting too much of the plate especially his fastball, changeup and curveball. 

 

Then you can also look at his babip and HR/FB:

While they weren't huge drop offs he was down on pretty much every category from his 2021 season 

My personal belief is he will never approach that 2021 season again without significant changes.

110 wRC+ and 2.3 fWR last year. 112 wRC+ and 2.1 fWARthe year before. That’s the exact same player. His counting stats were only down because he was on the IL to start the year.

If we DFA’d every player who can’t hit, we would have a hard time filling out the 26-man roster
