Maybe we should give Urias more than 30 at-bats before wanting to send him to the minors or trade him…

I started the comments about Urias and I never said send hIm to the minors or trade him. My point has been that expecting him to have a significant impact on a dreadful offense was a pipe dream. P

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Wasn’t referring to your comment. There were others that said they wished he had been traded or wondering whether he still had minor league options.

How about Adames? Should he be sent down?

No. Because 1) he has a track record, so you let him figure it out AND 2) we don’t have any better options to replace him

One at bat proves nothing either way and I'm in favor of keeping Luis.

True. I’m just saying we should be looking at the 112 and 110 wRC+ he’s produced the past two years and not his mere 35 PAs this year.

Winker was key today too with his RBI single and his 2BBs, one of which started the 8th inning rally. Another player people have been wanting to ship out of town.

Urias will probably be fine. He was out for 60-ish games. Dude probably needs to knock off some rust. Maybe he needed more time in the minors, but whatever, It is what it is. He's an above average performer when healthy, and if he's healthy, he should be playing and getting reps in Milwaukee, not Nashville. Unless/until this becomes a months long slump, it's nothing to worry about.

I agreed with the Singleton DFA

I’m curious - Do Adames & Urius have options?

If my math is correct, Urias has two options.  Looks like he signed in 2014 so his first option would have been in 2019, no option used in 2020, 2021, or 2022, but less than 5 years service time.

Looks like Adames is right at the threshold depending on days accrued.  4 years and 105 days heading in plus 60 games, a rehab assignment, and I don't know how many off days, but he's right at 172 if not just eclipsed it.

While they weren't huge drop offs he was down on pretty much every category from his 2021 season

My personal belief is he will never approach that 2021 season again without significant changes.

Because the offensive environment was down last season...that's why his league adjusted numbers (OPS+ and wRC+) were basically the same despite the raw numbers slightly falling off.

I still didn’t get an answer to my question regarding options … I’m simply curious

I was thrilled to see Urias get the hit there - big time rally for the win

That said - he needs to improve soon … one hit (grounder through the hole) does not suggest he’s coming around

Yelich might be our all-star this year..

There's no might about it. He absolutely will be, and Burnes has been making a push lately to get in too.

Astros tie it up in the 9th for extras against the Reds.

Bases loaded, 1-out and Julks hit into a double play.

I saw that. I held off posting hoping it would be a walk off win.

I wouldn’t be so sure about Yelich.  But these days so much depends on how many players pass on attending.

I think Williams is a no brainer, especially because the ASG has evolved into a parade of closers to guarantee that there will be very little hitting.

I'd say Devin.

You gotta exercise patience, man. The guy was just activated off the IL last week after playing in 1 total game before that. Way too early to think about anything.

I believe someone did answer your question about options. Urias does have option(s) remaining , whereas Adames likely has surpassed the veteran threshold.
