It would really suck to lose a series to the pirates.

Would it really suck or is it more of an inevitability that if you play four series against a team (two on the road) that you’re likely to lose at least one of them somewhere along the way?

Pretty much suck.   Especially when the first game should have been won.

Reynolds is back and the Brewers are facing a soft tossing lefty while fielding a vintage Sunday lineup (no Yelich). Montaserio at DH says a lot about the rogues gallery of fringe players that Counsell has at his disposal.

Losing a series to the Pirates would suck after letting the first game get away but, considering the match up, it looks more likely than not.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Sad but true.

I have the Sunday morning game on Peacock on, and Mullins made as good a catch as you’ll ever see, plucking a ball off just before it hit the wall while running at full speed.

Just a quick shoutout to the recent RF play. Perkins has contributed more than probably any of us thought, and Tapias' ABs have looked considerably better the last two days. Will they still look to upgrade? Yes. But there's been some production there. It also puts Anderson primarily at 3B. The ugly bottom of the 8th could've been much worse if not for his play on McCutchen. The man has won games for us there.

Brewers with the infield in in the first inning.

Counsell knows 1 run could be enough for the Pirates.

Rea serving up BP. HR, 2 ripping doubles, and a 400 foot fly ball from the first 6 batters.

I don't see why Rea needs to remain in the rotation. I'd give Gasser a chance.

Might have something to do with how the minor leaguers seem to pitch when they’re given a chance.

Also the fact that Rea has been no worse than Peralta.

Gasser is higher upside than all the minor leaguers we've brought up and is straight dealing in AAA right now.

This lineup … makes no sense

How can such a mediocre team “give away” games?

This is similar to what Counsell did last year on Sunday afternoon

I honestly don’t understand the logic here

It's too bad that McCutchen's not a Brewer anymore because him and Contreras in the middle of the order against LHP would fix a lot of our issues.

If Cutch was still a Brewer he would not nearly be hitting the way he is now.

Very true. Should have prefaced by saying this McCutchen with Contreras would solve a lot of our issues against LHP.
