Got to like when a guy like Monasterio would be easy to option keeps playing himself onto the roster.

Similar for Bryce Wilson - last guy in the pen and seemed like a likely DFA to start the season but earned his spot.

It’s pretty sad when the guy hitting third in the order everyday is one of the last guys you want to see up in a run scoring situation

This lineup … makes no sense

How can such a mediocre team “give away” games?

This is similar to what Counsell did last year on Sunday afternoon

I honestly don’t understand the logic here

Looks like I underestimated this particular lineup - happy to be wrong from time to time

Good road trip with some big games against division opponents coming up.

The July schedule is a challenge: 9 with the Reds and 6 with the Braves leading the way.

It's too bad that McCutchen's not a Brewer anymore because him and Contreras in the middle of the order against LHP would fix a lot of our issues.

Had he been re-upped this board might've ceased to exist due to the # of posters dying from conniption fits.

Interesting that Pittsburgh ambushed in the 2nd inning, but not from the get-go, then tried doing it a little later w/o success. Rae mostly stayed a step ahead of them & deserves a lot of credit.

A rare nugget from BA & Rottino, pointing out the speed & contact factor regarding Turangs' AB in the eighth. Sometimes your opponent screws up. It can't happen if you don't put the ball in play, and it usually doesn't happen if you can't put pressure on the play with speed. That was a play that seems to happen to the other guys' benefit much more than ours. Putting a 2-strike pitch in play paid off. The first game since Turang's return where he didn't swing the bat very well; but the athleticism makes a difference.

Just like the game in Milwaukee, liked the approach vs Hill. Taking a lot of his pitches is gonna result in some called 3rds. But you can't afford to let him get comfortable & after the first couple innings he never did.

7-3 road trip and 11-5 since that six game June swoon.

Also now 10-3 vs PIT/CIN/CHC.

Solid stretch of baseball.

Probably the best offensive stretch since early in the season.
