The Pirates are doing their best to hand the Brewers this game with walks and misplays, but the Brewers hitters are too incompetent to take advantage of it.

Looks like the Pirates had a pretty clear formula there:

- Leave the struggling righty in to face RHHs Anderson, Monasterio and Wiemer, since we’ve zero confidence in Caratini or Perkins to hit left-handed against him
- Get Anderson to chase outside
- High fastballs and low sweepers to Monasterio
- High everything to Wiemer

Because most people have turned the game off. That was a strike, too. Problem is there's zero consistency.

Taking the strike box off the screen would be good for everyone’s sanity… just show key pitch replays with it…. Like they used to.

Not expecting complaints, but maybe recognize that when pitches are right on the edge like that some are going to go your way and some aren’t.

14 runs the night before...4 runs tonight and should have had bunches more if situational hitting was better in a couple key spots. Frustrating loss, for sure - but the starter getting shelled early is the main reason the Brewers didnt win.

 

Adames' season long struggle in the heart of the order is the biggest remaining problem with the lineup, and I don't see that changing anytime soon unless he hits himself out of it, unfortunately.
