That top that Amy is wearing makes it damn hard to concentrate on the game.

Have you ever seen her up close?  Let's just say, she looks better from a distance.  I think her 15 minutes are up.

Well at least she plays to her strengths.

Just so we're on the Level: Every one of those pitches for the first run-scoring walk via Chafin would be recorded as strikes via ABS. Every single one touched the border of the strikezone.

It's funny, watching Chafin work I was thinking to myself "The guy is throwing a boatload of really, really good 0-2, 1-2 pitches." Problem was he never was 0-2, 1-2. I mean, once you've walked a couple there isn't much excuse to not at least get ahead with strike one, cuz they're gonna give you plenty of rope to hang yourself.

One of the talking heads, after the first walk blurted out that it wasn't the worst thing in the world. It took me all of a half-second to disagree because you had a unicorn coming up---a proficient bunter---followed by someone who, even if the bunt wasn't successful, isn't going to hit into a DP. That inning might've been drastically different if the first walk never happened.

I was at the game tonight. I couldn't believe the lineup when I saw it. Counsell is getting lots of blame. I can see both sides of that. His lineup wasn't good. I mean someone under 200 batting cleanup??? Keeping your hottest hitter out of the lineup??? I have been a season seat holder in the past. I think 14 of the last 15 years I had some sort of season seat holder package. I didn't get one this year because I didn't think the Brewers did enough in the off season (and this is not on Counsell). They struggled to score last year and how did they fix it? Not by signing a big bat but rather by signing a couple of over the hill guys and hoping they could get the magic back.

The most frustrating thing about all of this is we have one of the best pitching staffs in all of baseball and we are wasting it because we can't hit when we need a basehit. Counsell doesn't do the hitting but he can put people in the lineup who are our best hitters.

What I predicted at the beginning of the year was going to happen is indeed happening. The Brewers are going to be enough in the race to keep it close and keep people interested but they will falter down the stretch because of an overused bullpen and an anemic offense.

What a waste of a manager who could do wonderful things if ownership would pay for one or two better than mediocre hitters.

Other than two games - 14-1 and 12-1 the offense has made very few games easy for the pitching staff. The mark of a good team is that sometimes the pitching carries it, sometimes the defense carries it, and sometimes the offense carries it. Other than the two games I referenced above, when has the offense carried this team?

I'm frustrated but I shouldn't be because I saw it coming and I did not have high expectations.

When will this team play like everything matters?

I just don't see any kind of spark.

What does that mean? What does a "spark" look like? It seems like "spark" = winning, "no spark" = losing. They just beat the crap out of the Rockies on a one-hitter. They came back to tie the game in the 9th the other day and won in extras. They pounded the Pirates a couple days before that. Were those sparks?

Hell, it was a pretty nice "spark" to tie Tuesday night's game late.

That's actually a fair question. (💩!! )

Yeah, it's just my frustration over our apparent inability to beat "inferior" teams on a regular basis, as if some of those games are not that important.

'"spark" = winning, "no spark" = losing.' <===<< true. 😁

Brutal bullpen management once again.

Some might say it was the performance of a few pitchers that was brutal.

Counsell did EXACTLY what he has done successfully many times this season to squeeze out wins with very little offense. This time it didn’t work.

I think of it this way. Of course it's disappointing to lose to bad teams, but those teams are still full of professional players and will still win a whole bunch of games in any given season. It's rare to sweep even the worst teams. So...if the Brewers win Wednesday (IF), then they've won 2 of 3 from Colorado and that's pretty good!

Just stinks to have lost Tuesday - and a few games recently - the way they did.

You can't perform like this at home against the Pirates and Rockies of the world and pretend you're a contender.

There is only one legit contender in the NL this year, the Braves.

Everyone else is pretending and hoping to get hot for 5 or 7 games in October.

I'd say the Dodgers probably belong in that category too but other than that yeah you're not wrong.
